I've always seen the PVC/ABS extend into the box to get a better 'hook' for the washer discharge hose.

In my house the drain comes into the box and is level with hot and cold water shut offs.

 

The builder I worked for for 17 years did shit over the top, lol. He's still among the best builders in the area though.

Thanks for heads up..I am on a well So chlorine isn't a problem and it's the only two sharkbites in the house. They are guaranteed not to leak. So let's hope they don't

 

On the bottom of the box there are 3 holes just like the one on the top. When you put the box in the black ABS drain goes in the hole of choice. The ABS is just the thickness of the plastic from the top. They include a plug so you can pressure test the system. The plug fits into the notches you can see in the picture.

 

I tried to tell them , but would they listen ? no , it's just a harmless little bunny

 

Been awhile since I talked about my house that my father and I are building. It's wired, plumbed. Sheetrock is primed...just painting the rooms and doing trim now. While we are talking about plumbing I found a old pic of the manifold system I used. Took me three days to run. It's all home runs to fixtures and went really well.

Domestic hot water and hydronic heat ?

 

Geo thermal. The little water heater is a storage tank for water coming directly from the well(it likes cold water) it tempers the water and offsets my other water heater. The little water heat has no power to it ...but if my big one fail I could hook it up as a temporary fix.

 

One for the floor

 

I'll be going with an on demand natural gas water heater. Hopefully this summer.

 

Geothermal for just domestic hot water ?

 

Heat and air runs off geo thermal....the bonus is, it offsets how hot my water heater has to make water by taking the tempered water from the furnace.
