Would they give a damn if somebody ends up with Rabies? Around here they are considered carriers. Maybe run that one up the pole. If you can get enough neighbors on board (especially the ones with children) find a legislature that is up for reelection. Just a thought I had.

Any chance that the material you described between the strapping and drywall isn't building paper ? Looks that way from that one scrap in your first picture

    this.

I'm pretty sure the builders didn't do that to our house and our master can get ridiculous cold in the winter.

Water stays warmer and you get a better bass response when you fart in the tub

our tub backs up to the garage and an exterior wall which is why I thought lack of insulation was our problem.

If that means a 2x4 on the wall for the edge of the tub to rest on, yep.

Thought about under the tub. I'll have to do that.

    Could be... :notsure:

    Update for today:
Yesterday I finished insulating and sheet rocking the remaining walls. Then made some electrical connections so I don't have to run extension cords to the bathroom anymore. Also finished roughing in the plumbing for the sink and toilet. Lastly I reframed the closet.

Today is the last day of my long weekend and I still have a lot left to do.

I'm replacing the sink in my parents utility room today, along with a new kitchen sink and a toilet. The bastard that put the sink in the utility room used liquid nails instead of caulk, and he used a lot of it. :(

It's a standard drop in sink. Should have run a bead of caulk and dropped it in. Thankfully I wasn't planning on reusing it. I'm putting a new sink in the kitchen and using the old kitchen sink for the utility room.

Here's what one corner looked like. This was all the way around. d13609a2ec58e22d80a29f0ebdcd23f6_afa7251d8efbe06fc0e161beb185c1c9579cc863.jpg

I removed an kitchen island last month that someone glued 2x4s to the floor for blocking. Glued to oak flooring. I had to chisel the glue off the floor. I can fix screw holes easier than glue. I love home owner diy....

I can understand when they do things because it seems faster. But when all they do is make it more difficult on them selves and me it drives me crazy.
