Tile looks good. What is going on with the gap between the niche and the time below it?

Measured wrong when I installed the niches. I also had to change bullnose tiles at the last minute and these are like 1-3/4" instead of 2" so the gap is bigger than it would've been, and the gap between the niches would've been an 1/8" grout line but now it's bigger. Just gonna fill it with grout unless anyone has any ideas.

I figured that was the issue. How big is the gap you are working with there?

Not sure. I'll measure when I get home and see what it would look like with a sliver of tile in there.

    Lol thanks :)

Yea this is my first time tiling, and isn't something that I plan on doing again any time soon.

Yeah. Laying tile isn't any where near as easy as it looks. Its not all slapping mortar on tile and film flaming it onto the wall.

Anyone ever paint paneling as opposed to just putting drywall over it and finishing and painting that?

Yes. My beach house was built in the 1970's with dark walnut paneling everywhere. To paint it you make sure it's clean and use a "stick to anything primer." Paint the grooves first with a trim brush and roll out the paint. Use flat wall paint. One nice thing about places built with cheap paneling is that every room has a small crown molding. I don't have any really good pictures but you can see the walls here are a cream color and the trim is white. Paneling accepts paint really well and the finish is very even. I used Behr since Home Depot was the only game in town on the weekends. I usually prefer Benjamin Moore.

    This is while moving in:

This is the kids room with a little more color:

I recently purchased a boat and it will not fit through my current single gate (wood fence).

The before and after pics I drew up here are trying to depict the current setup.

Looking at the before pic, I think if I cut the 6x6 post at the ground I could use that concrete pad as a stake holder on the back side of the gate.

Then get a new 6x6 post, as seen in the after pic, measure out the new gates dimensions, cut the fence there, then install new post and new hinges on the created gate...correct?

The length is roughly 10-12' feet from the house to the corner post, so there is enough room to make it happen.

I hope this makes sense. I have the ability and the tools to accomplish this, just not sure what the process is.

    Thanks!

my neighbor did this to his fence. didn't have the turnbuckle supports until after a month or so when it started sagging. added the turnbuckles and now it works great.
