If you're using an impact driver to set your screws , driving a 3" screw through 2 pieces of wood , you always run the risk of breaking the screw inside the joint without really knowing it . The wood will have different hardness levels just because of the nature of wood , and therefore different resistance levels to the screw as you are attempting to drive it , essentially you are forcing the screw to turn through 2 different resistance levels at the same speed which can result in the screw snapping at the interface between the boards

Additionally , as wood dries , especially pressure treated lumber it shrinks and tries to twist etc , putting substantial pressure on the fasteners

Nails can bend and still retain their holding capacity , try bending a screw , it will snap because they are brittle and hence have no shear value

I built scaffold with 3" screws once , as I was taking it apart after a couple weeks of use I found that about every 2nd screw had broken , most right at the interface between the boards . It was later that day that the scaffold collapsed with me on it resulting in me falling 12' and landing in a pile of lumber that was the scaffolding .

    Just use nails

I'm not arguing with you, but I've never had a problem with deck mate screws. Some of the cheaper coated deck screws with a Phillips drive have had plenty of heads snap off. But with the t25 bit deck mate screws I can drive it completely through a piece of wood without it snapping.

Either way, I'm going to be using approved nails made by Simpson strong tie.

I tried sending a screen shot of this picture to live but it won't go through. So here's a link to a basic drawing of a free standing deck, which I've been basing my plan off of.

    Haha.
Your going to have to show me what your calling a hurricane strap. We use them to further tie a roofing system to a building.

Toenailing is shooting a nail at an angle your corners done require toenails. It also depends on your railing and if its inside the framing or on the outside.
Bolt size and number will be based off your deck size and planned use. You mentioned a hot tub not sure if that's going on your deck or not but that would change your load rating drastically.

And a single tapcon has around 500lbs shear rating in light block.

Do your drawings and submit them.

As long as the foundation under the container doesn't settle , no problem

    I'm actually looking at buying a 20'

Mine is a 20' 5500 dry weight and most of it will be under frost level. I left adjustment for going up or down with the deck, just in case.

Shipping containers are stout! I don't know the exact numbers, but you can stack them 5-10 high fully loaded. Supporting a deck isn't going to be a problem. :D

My company has a containerized ring crane. Notice the containers used for ballast?

$2200 delivered then I cut some logs and rolled it into to place with the skid steere. It's coated in galvanized with 1" marine grade plywood of a floor.
