Oh that's not too bad. My older 42-in plasma weighs a ton, like 72 lb after I removed the weighted base. I was kind of freaking out mounting it to the back of the new cabinet, which I specified at 3/4 in T&G (oak). I still ended up putting 3 vertical pieces of slotted angle iron behind the whole upper cabinet to bolt through.

I measured everthing like 9 million times for the bracket mounting holes and the cable port (hole saw) because it was a custom piece I didn't even want to drill into at all. Ordered it in Feb, it just showed up about a month ago. Was gonna post pics, just haven' been able to get to it. Still need to install cable races along the baseboards.

The Sanus one I got was supposedly good for 60 lbs and up to 50" tv .

The one I got is fundamentally the same as the one at the lower link, dual arm going to a plate with the vertical brackets like that. At full extension it freaks me out a bit, but it is not flexing subtantially.

Are you attaching to wall studs?

    Ah. Beefy.

I ended up putting these behind the 3/4 oak with 6 bolts

And here is a crappy pic of the TV bracket before mounting the TV.

It was an "oh shit, we are going to have to make that a lot more rigid, let's got to Home Depot" moment. This is what came to mind immediately before we even left, and it worked perfectly with the size bolts we had to use on the other side on the TV bracket.

With the large (thick) baseboards and the room needed for AV cables anyway, the depth was not a concern.

For my most recent project, my Dad came up from CA and we built some stairs off my deck. It's a lot nicer now with getting the dogs to the backyard.
Also brought up some red oak he had saved from awhile ago and we turned them into a 7x4' dining table with steel frame. Had some left over wood to make a bench to go with the table too but i dont have any pictures of that.

    Thank you!
When we first put the stain on it looked way too dark but after a couple coats and the poly it lightened up and brought a lot of the colors and details in the wood out.

Yeah I really like the table. It weights a ton too haha.
The picture of the stairs was before I stained them to match the deck.

So , just briefly getting back to the tv cabinet I built but if you guys haven't used these before , the Leviton Quickport system works really well for not only cleaning up coax , tel and LAN connections but is a clean solution for speaker wires . I used a double gang box and 2 6 port plates here with their speaker wire binding posts

@OZ-T my previous set up used a mount VERY similar the the #2 TygerClaw mount, just branded Rocketfish. It was extremely solid! The only thing that bugged me was how stiff it was to move. I would have to put way too much pressure on the edges of the TV to get it flush. However, if I were in the market to get another mount, that is what I would purchase again.
