I cut all my baseboard with my saw on the ground. I can admit it..

Its attractive for $100 but I'd likely have to cut it down a lot. I won't be measuring things until Friday at earliest. If I can make it work without hacking it to death I'll see if it's still available then.

I do all of my miter sawing on the ground. Apparently I'm a neanderthal?

The ground is the largest and flattest surface area of my shop. If I ever acquire a really nice compound miter I might build a stand for it and get a roller stand or two.

Heres what I did with my TV. I wanted to keep it out of sight when it wasnt in use, so when I was having the house built I had the fireplace framed specifically to fit my TV inside of it. This allowed me to make a custom sliding mechanism that i could attach my TV mount to and allow me to slide the TV in and out of the fireplace wall. Here are some pictures. I still need to put on a door to conceal it while closed and obviously i need to finish the mantel on the fireplace.

Now only if i could figure out how to motorize it. I would have to make it fold back automatically though or it would just get stuck on the wall.

I'll use the floor if I'm doing something quick but it kills my back and having the saw table up closer to eye level makes me able to be a lot more accurate

These are a decent solution too

If you have a 30-inch deep space against the wall where it won't jack up your vehicle space, get the damn thing and buy some killer locking/lock down casters for it. Decent ones like that are hard to come by on CL. I've been through this.

As Pete said, there is no fucking way I could deal with running the miter saw on the ground anymore. Better to have it close as possible to eye level anyway for precision cuts.

I'm having to rethink my entire setup now if I want to ever get the DCLB in the garage and close the door and still be able work on it. 18 inches on the sides of the garage, and the additional 18 inches of the DCLB over the 01 Xcab means I could only have an 18-inch deep bench in front of it and have room to stand. So. Fuck. The toolbox might have to go in front, and I may need to do a drop edge bench or somethign like that. Somewhere.

So many activities. Time to go play with Visio again.

Oh yeah, I need to fill in the slab expansion joint too. Fucking thing is like the Marianas Trench.

I only have space for a 60" bench.

So, tentative dimensions are 30" deep, 60" long, 36" tall.

I have the DeWalt folding chop saw stand and for me I still prefer a couple sawhorses and a piece of plywood or a solid core door

I assumed I couldn't cut a solid core door down to 60 inches?

Does peg board need to have support in the middle? I'm spanning maybe 5 or 6 feet, put 3 boards up. Sides and center. Can I pull the center board or does it need that much support?

I've never actually used it, but if I can free up the entire span I'll remove the middle board.
