I use latex paint on the ends...

You could also look into local Mills they charge a fee for time but for larger boards I normally have them do an initial plane to save me time. Plus they have a planer that's 48" wide..

I was close to building a solar kiln the other week, when a guy I know cuts wood calls and says he's got a nice big walnut. He drops it at my shop and when I go to look at it it's hickory. So I left a chunk of walnut out there for him when he came to pick it back up.

Actually, I still have a pile of HD gift cards, and I just got my $500 mastercard "gift card" from Wells Fargo after my refi closed. Lowe's is one of the many vendors. I also badly need an extension ladder at this house. I could get away with my Werner aluminum transformer at the old house, but not here.

I need a plan for where to put all this shit too. I just have no time, still clearing other crap out of the garage. Hence selling the Homeroshi out of the rafters as soon as the Vintage gen sold. LOL.

OK, back outside for some rain gutter repair and mods...

    Very clean.

How's the vibration insulation on that compressor cart? Seems like it would shake that steel around something awful.

That's way more expensive than my left over paint. I use a product like that for green turnings. One coat of anchor seal is about the same as two of latex paint. And I use certain colors for different woods.

And woot free shipping time to punish my wallet.

Well, I thought it would do the same but it really isn't too bad plus the compressor is oil filled which is a ton better than other small compressors. I use it mainly to put my miter saw on top and then I have compressed air to blow the saw dust.

    Hello guys,
Im having an issue with the water pressure in part of my condo. I recently installed a 40 gallon water heater and the water pressure is fine in both bathrooms but in the kitchen sink and dishwasher im barely getting anything. The water heater is located in the kitchen close to the sink/dishwasher so I would think it should get great pressure. Do any of you have any suggestions? I am Baffled...

A little of this and a little of that.
Unscrew the screens at the end of the faucets. There may be sediment clogging the lines, obstructing the flow.
    Good luck.

There could be crap in the lines from changing out the HWT , there is usually a screen on the supply end under the dishwasher and an aerator screen on the end of the kitchen faucet but as mentioned above check that the shut offs for that supply branch are open

So my older Makita 14v impact/drill set is showing some age, batteries are headed south, and it is generally bulkier and heavier than what is available today with 18v lion and brushless options.

Anyone tried this model yet? There are cheaper sets, but they are cheaper because the batteries are only 2.0 Ah, whereas this one seem to be the same tools with 5.0 Ah batteries, which I think would be a lot less tedious.

Not too concerned about the 1/2 hammer drill action, because I have a corded Dewalt for any of those tasks. This drill would be more general purpose.

I have 18V Makita cordless tools but not the brushless ones

I've never had a brush--ful? -ed? Makita fail on me, but it's not like I'm a contractor running them all the time. Not sure if they have any advantage other than you don't have to replace brushes eventually.

What's the spec on yout batteries in terms of amp hours? Had any issues/frutrations?

My set up is 18V 3.0 amp hours

Never had any issues , no burnt out batteries yet in the last 4 years or so since I switched from running 12V Panasonics

I have the impact driver , hammer drill , circular saw , recip saw , mini leaf blower , flashlight and 4' concrete vibrator , all have worked great

Like you , for heavy duty or prolonged cutting or drilling jobs I usually use my corded versions of the tools but have never been let down by the cordless tools . I use the impact driver and drill the most .
