Wall Control is what I went with because of this reason. The hooks have tabs that can be bent to make an extremely tight fit against the metal board. They do not move at all when adjusted. Plus the board accepts the traditional pegs as well.

    No brush replacements either, eh?

Thanks for the input. Yeah I've had the very old 9.2v Makita (damn thing still works, but performance is antique), and I love the feel and controls on the 14v set I have now. However, it always seems like I am running out of juice on the driver or the drill as I reach the end of a project/task, and it suck even more if that task is up a ladder. But it doesn't make sense to buy new batteries for them.

The brush-ful options are definitley less expensive. I may opt for a Makita kit that adds a small 6.5 in. cordless circular saw, too. I've wish I've had one a few times where the PC Mag was too large and awkward.

Or maybe I'll just get another 7.25 if it comes with this accessory

Oh dear god. Just went and looked at their site. This is going into my garage notes for later reference. All my mechanics tools are in a rollaround tool chest, and my go-to household tools are all in a bucket boss, but I like having a set of redundant basics above my bench at arm's lenght at all times.

Nope , no brush replacements yet

The circular saw is actually pretty powerful with a sharp blade and full battery

I forgot I also have the jigsaw

I'm considering getting one of the 4 1/2" inline Rockwell circular saws too

I purchased my set through Amazon with free shipping.

Edit: looks like they offer free shipping on orders over $50

Agreed on the non-hammer drill idea, and it especially is not desireable when working at awkward angles or at arm's length or off-balance. I've just started looking at what kits and options are available out there. I've got a bunch of HD and Lowe's credit I can throw at this, so I am trying to work withing the constraints of what they list online. Luckily, there is greater variety on line than what they stock in stores these days.

I'm a Makita juny on the drills and drivers, and I like having a case that holds both for the way I usually work. Dewalt has been gettgin my other business for corded and larger stuff, except for my Porter Cable Mag 325. Oh and my Bosch router.

Oh yeah, and the Wrener sawhorses and now and extnsion ladder...

    And those steel slottedtool boards.

Oh yeah, wtill need to set up my drill press on a mobile work station.

    And my shorts bin project...

And Cooper and Konigs and Kings, oh my!

There is so much more I'd rather be doing every day.

Thanks again. I'm hoping to embark on a garage setup redesign during the "rainy" season here, and narrower bench options will be in the mix, as will this stuff. I set up an interim bench and pegboard as soon as we arrived at the new house a couple years ago, but it has many shortcomings and won't permit a functional fit with the new DCLB in the garage with the door closed. Unless the bumper is tapping the bench legs...but that is not functional:rolleyes:

    Old plan ideas

2 years ago, but I have reconfigured a few things since then

The new reality facing me now with the door closed. Old 01 Xcab mark on the right, new 15 DCLB mark on left, at base of current interim bench (blue legs).

    1. I'm well aware, I've done all that in the past. One of reasons I like the Makitas is the trigger feel and control.

It may be the only thing in the world I have decent control over these days. But even the wife is eyballing my beer ARB for displaced freezer goods to make room for milk supplies in-house... I'll have to draw the line there and say "meat only in the garage." Look at my manhood. Behold it. Please. Someone.

It actually looks less organized in that pic than it is , there is a pocket on the end for the charger , the recip and jigsaw fit in the bottom , there are holsters on each side for the drill and impact driver , the saw , blower and flashlight I lay on top , but realistically there's probably a couple too many tools crammed in the one bag . For 4-5 tools and a charger it is a perfect size

The Makita bag is pretty good , mines overstuffed / overweight all the time and the zipper still works good , no stitching tears and the shoulder strap is still good

The only damage is that one side of the internal charger pocket ripped but thats probably the result of overstuffing the bag for the last 4 or 5 years

The Veto Bags seem to use only a couple sizes of the hard bottom tray and I have their XXL-F bag which is the biggest and longest tray / bag , even that size would need to be a bit wider to work effectively for a cordless bag that included a recip saw

Any of you know of a compact bag capable of carrying 40 lbs?

By compact I mean smaller than a typical school backpack.
