The struggle is getting all that back into the truck and not having it in the bed and unsecure.

Yeah I haven't removed anything back there. I was good to go with everything having a spot until I added the festool vac and sander.

 

...just look'in out for ya, oz! ...one thing I have learned from DIY tilesetting, ...take the extra time on preparation and anticipation of what might go wrong, ...it really sucks finding that out as the thinset is drying, or worse, after it's set

 

That's the one thing I don't like. That tile I posted we actually red-handed the walls to give the drywall some texture for a bit more of a mechanical bond. And we used a large format tile mortar that had a nice tack to it.

 

Did you use the top down method ?

 

We intend to do a skim coat over the entire KerdiBoard area prior to any tile application

Yoda and I washed , primed and poured some LevelQuick on the floor today in prep for laying the Ditra on Monday

 

No this was at my mom's house a modified a frame with the same pitch you have. I did my be two or three rows at a time and had cut I few different supports to make sure they stayed there.

I love mixing and pouring that stuff. Watching it level out is almost distracting. Did you prime the floor under it?


And I added the mirka sanding block and another festool hose, damn metric system nothing of mine fits anything. And rough sanded my garage wall. I'm actually like sanding drywall now.

My kitchen isn't super special , just fir shaker cabinets with a granite top , its not that big

Nah , I personally don't see how a $10,000 fridge can be $9000 better than a $1000 fridge at keeping food cold

I did a big reno in a wealthy client's house and their SubZero fridge was $18K , their AGA stove was $27K

 

Quite literally , adding up the cost of the cabinets , stone countertops and appliances in that job is what I spent building my whole house

 

I know guys that worked on older dupont houses and they would have a project finished just to rip it out and start over. All the big bank execs around here one upping each other.

 

Ditra isn't going down till tomorrow , we decided this morning we needed to lay down one more bucket of LevelQuick because the first go around didn't sufficiently fill the low areas in my floor so after some prep , floor wash and primer again , I poured that myself this afternoon and hit the edges and a couple ridges with a stone this evening , checking with a 6' level and a 10' mag screed it looks really good . 1 high point I should be able to stone down first thing and then we can lay the Ditra . I pre-cut all the necessary pieces today prior to pouring the floor leveling compound .
