the shut off seems to be the most reasonable route IMO. but then again, he has it all open right now so it's pretty much fair game. we don't use a regular shower head at all since we like the handheld.

Thanks for the help. I think the red wire switched another circuit sometime in the distant past. Doesn't appear to do anything now. Have it wired up and working again.

Yup. I'm concerned about the hot and cold supply being too small. 1/2" pipe to the valve and branched out to 3 or 4 heads will not give him the volume he's dreaming of. I've seen it before.

He shouldn't confuse pressure with volume.

Some areas in New York require all line voltage wiring to be in conduit or BX armor..... even residential. They're concerned of rats chewing the tasty insulation of the wires.

The diverter only lets you use one or two heads at a time. I know the supply is sufficient for that because I have the same diverter in my guest bathroom. Not trying to run them all at once, just thought I might be able to add a shower head to an unused outlet. Since it wasn't made for that I'm just not going to mess with it.

    Ensuite update

Shower is complete , missing bits and pieces all filled in and we finished the tub deck and the wainscoting above the vanity and tub , plus the chair rail

Tomorrow we'll do the last couple trim pieces we needed to leave out today and then I have to wait for my tub filler to arrive before I can close up the tub deck front

I'll work on the baseboard in the rest of the room in the meantime

Easy to get off. Didn't go much further just wanted to see what it's like. I can get the hills of the glue off making it flattish

Used my ocillating spindle sander and a couple different drum sizes plus some hand work with 600 grit wet / dry paper to make this happen

Going to hire somebody to install hardwood flooring on the stairs in our house. A couple questions for you guys:

    - should I hire a floor installer or carpenter?
    - any particular brands of hardwood you recommend to be durable?
    - anything in particular I should look out for or ask when interviewing/hiring the pro?

I would also love input on this, the stairs going down to my finished basement are trashed, they have a carpet runner over them now, which is also on it's way out. The edges of the tread are wore.
