Personally I don't like dealing with plumbing stuff, so I'd just replace it with a new one and avoid having to do it again possibly.

I put something similar under our toilet the last time I had it out. The directions said to silicone it in place. Going on ten years:fingerscrossed:

Got some more time to pick away at my ensuite . This is the first section I did Yoda-less and fully unsupervised , pretty happy with how it turned out . I have all my baseboards cut now so I'll start laying those up in the morning

So IDK if anybody remembers me making these pencils from my marble flooring a couple lifetimes ago but they finally started getting installed today , first cut , last installed

And the method to the madness is finally revealed as the whole concept of the marble pencils was to mimic the wooden baseboard that is throughout the rest of the house with the marble baseboard in the ensuite

    Wooden baseboard built up profile

Marble baseboard matching profile , matching size

I remember... they also look like they'd make nice threshold/transitions, ...with just enough to outfit all the doorways in a English manor house!

looks like the end is in sight for your project!

I'm off to install four new 4' LED shop lights in the garage. House just had a single incandescent fixture that wasn't nearly bright enough to do any work in the garage.

You're going to burn your retinas out with 4 of those! I was in the same situation as you and replaced a single incandescent fixture with just one of those 4' LED units and it's plenty bright in my garage. Then again, I don't do any work in the garage, just store the wife's car and the beer fridge.

I need/want a substantial amount of light for the work I plan on doing in the garage. Besides, if its super bright I'll just wear my sunglasses inside.

Anyhow, hoping someone can provide expert advice. Im looking to put in a covered deck in the backyard this spring. Id like to avoid getting permits and will stay under the height, sq. footage, and property line setbacks and also not attach it to my home structure. I was thinking I could build the roof and deck overhangs up to an inch away from the house so its not physically attached. Anyone ever gone this route? I havent been able to find any info online on my county permit office that specifies how close a structure could be, without being "attached". I do have all the info for using an attached ledger.

    TIA.

In our jurusdiction structures have to be 3m apart to qualify as seperate structures with respect to permits and set backs

I would recommend permits for anything visible outside the home.
