More progress on the shed! Since it was just me I kept them as light as i could. But managed to get them all up without hurting myself!

I was going to add a short eave to the front and rear of the shed. Was thinking 12". So i put the 2x4 up there with a 12" over hang (its more for a bit more piece of mind support wise). Seems like such a small over hang Im not even sure if its worth it or if i should just leave it as is.

Did you say it only needs to last a year or so ?

If thats the case I would glue a piece of backing into the hole , seal it up as best you can and gut it all down to the studs when you redo it

It looks better IMO and keeps rain from getting into the walls

Like a piece of hardi backer or plywood or whatever to provide a surface to reinstall the soap dish onto

I plan to put the extra siding I have under the eaves to prevent bugs as much as I can. Luckily though wasps and bees don't seem to like where I live :)

so this problem has just surfaced in my house. my house is near 100 years old, so its ollld school construction. i'm sure several places in the house bend and give a little more than they should. right at this corner in my kitchen, i had 2 floor tiles crack. i took them up, and the compound put down for the tiles is cracked also. i'm not sure if it was done correctly, given the fact that nothing the guy that used to live here was done correctly. i'm not sure if these cracks are from the sub par job the last homeowner did, or it is from something else. all of the rest of the floor is solid (with the exception of the one crack you can see. i did that).

any ideas on how to fix this so i can replace these 2 ceramic tiles?

the last owner remodeled the entire house when he bought it about 18 years ago, so if i had to guess everything in that kitchen is 10-18 years old.

that might be it. i've found questionable work all over the house, questionable even in my noob eyes. should i try and get that compound out of there and get a better look at the subfloor? i really don't want to have to tear up more than i have to, i only have a box or 2 of replacement tiles.

Do you have access to the underside of the floor framing ?

this is an easy fix. you can do it yourself. i would just silicone the soap dish on, caulk it and call it good... this is the easiest and cheapest route.

I wonder why they didnt waterproof the walls... o_O

If you can access that area from below you might be able to find an obvious issue or failing that there may be a way to stiffen the floor in that area
