FactorYou cuts are always suspect. One of my guys was telling me about a building they were doing steel studs and drywall in and the walls were long enough that the undersized drywall they had really fucked them.

I really don't use the miter for much in the shop. Mostly rough cuts. If I had the space for a more permanent set up or one that didn't travel to jobs I'd build a dedicated space for it.
Maybe when I pick up a kapex and build a paulk bench for it.. ..

 

If you don't flip them do they all fit tight?

I use Benjamin lumber and American home in north easthma and elkton.

 

They weren't as bad if I kept the same side up.
Tague Lumber is supplier. I never had an issue with them before but this is not their fault.

 

I installed 1/2" OSB to underside of joists, all square and from Tague.

 

You have OSB on the underside of the joists and plywood on top ?

 

Yeah something is out of wack at the mill so you keep theme faced the same they will fit tight but not sit fully on the framing. I haven't used ply t&g for decking over.

 

Was wondering if anyone on here had experience with Diamond Vogel brand paint? Specifically the Paramount 100% acrylic latex paint: 35% solids by volume; 49% by weight. I've read that anything 35% or more by volume is a "top tier paint". What say you? Feedback is appreciated.

 

Plywood t&g has to go all the same side up or the t&g doesn't align hence the "This Side Up" stamps

 

Yes, the shed is on sono tube columns. My yard slopes away from front to back. I installed the OSB to hold and protect the R-30 insullation.

I normally use GPs osb. Hard to put one of those wrong side up.

 

Yes, I laid it down correct side up and noticed how out-of whack it was so I unscrewed it, flipped it reinstalled. I had to do this with almost every sheet to get the gap as minimal as possible. A real test of patience!

 

I would see if they can get you some of your money back. If that was delivered to my site and put me behind I'd be pissed.

 

This is my own project for our house, so I dealt with it.

Not much visable progress today. Set up to wiring inside for the switches for the lighting. We moved them from the back splash to inside the cabinet for a cleaner look.

 

Looks great, how do you like that hidden fastener system for the Trex? I installed that same system about 6 years back and have not used the gun since.

 

Nice work OZ. Did you build your own trusses or have them made? Any secret to putting those gusset plates on?

 

No gun just clips and a screw at 45°. It's ok if the wasn't trying to keep two sections in line it would be great but as the trex size was not consistent they were actually a pain in the ass as one side pulled tight was 1/2" different I had to take one side up and adjust the spacing. My fault for not checking and my guys keep the brackets spaced just like trex's instructions said.

 

I have a gun which holds a magazine of screws, like a nail gun. The hidden fastener fits on the business end of the gun, set the gun magazine on the joist and against the groove of the Trex and bang, the screw is shot in like a nail. Extremely time consuming.
