Hopefully we can finish up the irrigation system and get some sod down. Also laying some stone for a small patio and a few walkways. $$ and time, $$ and time....

It appears that the chip board sheathing on the buildings touches the ground. Won't that absorb water and swell over time?

Doesn't look like an excessively wet climate there lol but I'd be worried about the snow laying against it. Maybe he's planning on covering with foam board? Still tho u bring up a valid concern

Inch or more off the ground and that's not the final grade. Plus the entire building is going to have a corrugated metal panel running along the bottom, with a flashing on the bottom.
And yes- very dry arid climate. Not a whole lot of snow in my microclimate, but certainly going to take some precautions.

What are you building? Are those steel posts that you are going to slide vertical boards into?

There is certainly a lot of trim and finishing on that house. Do you have a pic of the front? I detect a balcony.

Not my house, just illustrating the steel panels.

That house would require me to have vast sums of the precious metal unobtanium, lol.

The 2"x6" steel posts will scarf into a 6x6 cedar post

So the concrete wagon worked awesome , all the holes in this section required pumping out of water which meant I had to hang and plumb the steels 1 hole at a time which slowed me down a bit , I got 6 of the 8 poured today , looks like I'm going to be a 1/2 dozen bags short so I'll pick them up tomorrow morning and finish up the other 2 posts

Does anyone do pest control on their own? Was looking at Talstar products to DIY instead of paying a company $75+ every few months to come spray (Amazon has a 16oz bottle that makes 32+gal for $30). Thoughts? Recommendations on another product?

I do my own using Suspend SC. Check out one of the online sellers to identify what will work with what issues you're having. I buy mine on Amazon too. Get a quality sprayer so it'll last longer.

Right now it's just ants. But we are in a desert climate so I suspect more in the future.

Desert here too and I prefer granules for ants. That way the take them back to their nest and share to hopefully kill off the colony. You could try Max Force.

We get cockroaches and ants at the pointy end of Nevada and Suspend SC works well for normal everyday use.

    going to be fun!
When we built new in 08 I put tubes in the walls all the way up to the 3rd floor and use a pressure tank to inject pest control agent once a month. I have yet to see ANY bugs in 8 years and I treat the perimeter of the structure with spray and granular every other month.
