Reminds me of the Alakai Swamp trial at the top of Kauai.

There's quite a bit of this, too. This is the trail.


It's an awesome trail, but treacherous as hell. The top of Kauai is the wettest spot on earth. The red mud is like grease. The best footgear to navigate the slippery wooden boardwalks would be golf shoes, but that would just destroy them more quickly.

 

Yup.

Big question of the day is color shade.



Family consensus is the lighter green. Ironically the trim color is very close to the factory primer, lol.

 

Darker green. Blends more with the environment rather than stand out.

Actually that was a concern- to dark and the house get's 'lost' in the surroundings, and I'm not sure we entirely wanted that either.





I'll run up behind the shop and take a picture of the back side from within the trees.

We're painting this fall and we want to blend in! Our colors dark body, lighter trim.

 

The whole darker green came about by a fluke. I was test painting the front of the shop in the lighter green when my neighbors came walking up. They stepped back, looked at the lighter green and then said "I like the darker green color of your shirt better".

I was wearing a darker shade of green t-shirt.

So my wife made me change shirts, she went to Sherwyn Williams and had them color match it, lol. So that darker green is called 'stinky t-shirt green'.

So that's forum 3-0 on the darker, neighbors 2-0 darker, and family 4-0 on the lighter green. Hmm- ultimately it is up to the missus, cause I'm just the hired labor.

 

Darker green is nice, but also consider your hotter, drier climate and the effect on heat in there. The lighter shade might be a more practical compromise.
