The reason you don't put lights and hardwired items on the same circuit is so that if a breaker is tripped by the hardwired item, you still have lights. At least thats the only reason I was able to find while researching a while back. Junction box and individual line on a 20 amp circuit with 12 gauge wire shouldn't be a problem.

Bathroom is still coming along...holiday parties on the weekends and having a 7 month old at home has really killed my productivity. Replaced subfloor with 3/4" T&G, hardibacker, then put down slate tile. Replumbed new waste pipe for toilet with flange, installed new toilet (we call is the S.S. Titanic), Hung all new drywall and mudded/painted. Have the vanity in our sunroom, I just need to remove one drawer and glue the faceplate onto the vanity - the cold water supply for the faucet comes in right at the drawer support. Then put in new P-trap and finish up with my trim work.

The only thing we didnt touch was the tub and the tile surround. Was not in the mood to retile a surround and didn't have a new tub in the budget. Tried to pick a paint color and tile floor that works with it. Only so much you can do with seafoam green.

Pre Remodel - started stripping wall paper and decided that replacing drywall was going to be a lot easier.

Removed toilet and vinyl floors. Working on ripping out rotted subfloor. Went down to the joists and replaced with 3/4" tongue and groove plywood.

New drywall hung and new subfloor. Cut out new hole for toilet and replumbed the toilet. Cut off past the 90° in the basement and out it all back together. Thought the pipe was empty when cutting with the sawzall, got covered in last weeks dinner.

Where she sits today. Have to get the vanity in and hooked up...then paint the trim for the window and put in finishing hardware.

This may be a dumb question but how does having a window in the shower work? PVC trim or something?

I wish I had an answer for you. No idea why they decided to place the tub the way they did when they built the house. My neighbor has the same house layout and they placed the tub along the wall opposite the toilet. Wish I had the same layout.

I used PVC trim and silicone the hell out of it when its all done so it doesn't leak.

What type of drywall are you using? I haven't seen blue/purple like that before. Is it a different brand of mold resistant?

I have a window in my shower/tub, It is more typical in older homes where a tub was installed and not a shower, showers were later added. We intend to use a shower liner on both the window and the bathroom sides.

Its what they had in stock at HD for mold/mildew resistant. I used the same stuff when we did our upstairs bathroom and it was a shade of green - surprised to see it was purple now.

Interesting, didn't know you can do that. We have a window above our soaking tub in our master that we want to eventually remove and put in a big shower. I figured we would need to close the window up but it would be nice if we could keep it.

Yeah, thought of that and wedged little shims into the rear of the sill. Gonna go slap happy with the caulk over there too.

Tape off and use a good silicone based caulk so you have less chance of mould later

Just an FYI , another option you can do if you plan on tiling your shower is to pitch and tile the window sill which is what I did here ( same concept just not in a shower ) , you can also do the jambs and trims in tile if there is matching coping or chair rail trims for the tile / stone you choose

Just got done installing a 52 gallon pressure tank and dual stage water filtration system for my well. I have the switch set to 40/60. For anyone else running a similar setup, are there any benefits to upping the cut-in/cut-out to 45/65? I've seen a few videos on Youtube where people use that setting, but they don't explain the reason for the higher setting.

ours is set up to 40/60, we dont have any problems running both showers at the same time so no real need to bump it up.

Awhile dual drum would be nice but, my 16/32 would be nice to if the motor hadn't blew up last weekend
