I don't know the dimensions but I'd guess 15' x 30'? Bad back, and a shoulder injury don't help the cause...

Thats one thing I am not looking forward to having to do. Both the master bedroom and living room have vaulted ceilings. The living room is a good 20'x30' or so and the bedroom isnt to much smaller. The peak on mine are somewhere in the same range as yours.

Not fun when you arent a fan of ladders and heights to begin with! Its an adventure for me just changing the smoke detector battery!

A lot of drop cloths (to cover the whole floor) roller extensions. And let her rip. You might want to take the blades off any ceiling fans, and mask anything you don't want paint on. It beats the hell out of up and down and moving latters!

Tip: sometimes common broom handles (my Walmart push broom for example) work as an extension.

Pay the coin and get a good fiberglass 12' ladder. It still sucks climbing up and down something that tall, but the large base and proper height make it feel every so slightly safer. Every room in my house, save for 2 of the bathrooms and the kids' rooms, are 13' or taller.

So , after 80 million delays that will see us not actually doing any form work on my new house build till beginning of January , I did manage to get up some batter boards today

Recently tore down some wainscoting in my living room and replaced it all with dry wall. Replaced a few outlet boxes in the process. Man, drywall sucks!

O I have plenty of good ladders. I still hate them with a passion :) I don't like scaffolding either though to be fair.

Wow! When I did my foundation I just put batter boards on the outside corners....why do you have them all the way around the outside? Does it make it easier to keep everything square?

I normally would just do the corners as well but this house has a lot of offset walls and there are a number of seismic holddowns that have to be accurately located and have to be drilled and grouted into the rock , plus because we will be forming directly on the rock and not pouring a footing , there is really no flat area in which to chalk a line or to accurately measure an offset for other walls and you basically end up laying out your wall locations by marking a series of locations on the rock with a plumb bob hung from a string line for each wall .

Seems a bit overboard but that only took me 6 hours by myself and all the batter boards are shot to a consistent common elevation so that measuring between strings or doing a cross square on them is an accurate measurement .

It ends up just making life way easier when we start to lay everything out and a small cost in the big scheme of things .

Makes sense. I have a magnetic plumb bob that is slotted in a way that you can hang it easily from strings pulled across. I am guessing you will be using something similar.
