Its not all that complicated but there is a lot of glass and engineered headers up high in the walls plus lots of shear walls , glulam rafters with exposed t&g 2x6 fir roof decking and iso board insulation on top in a hot roof

Should be fun

 

I am assuming all the bump outs are glass?

 

Theres glass all over the place , 4 / 3'x12' skylights too

I don't know if Velux makes them that big

These are custom made in a Skylight manufacturing plant not too far away from us

My current job seems so tame now.

 

Stairs are not as easy as one would naturally assume.

 

They should be for a stair deity

 

It has been years since I have done a challenging stair. Doing mostly renos these days.

 

Nor are they as hard as most think.

All the walnut is set and mounted. Location being an hour and a half away has made this more of a pain in the ass.

While I haven't made any myself, I've felt enough wobbly new stairs to disagree to an extent.

 

Had some issues with movement on my miters as the grain so active, made for alot of fun during the glue ups.
And cutting the undermount on site was a blast. Wanted to save as much of the cutout as possible because it got such nice figure.

 

Well, you can't just slap em together.
