Going off my own plan and what scant materials I could pull of the job. Still gotta finish putting their roosting shelves in, and gotta raise it up off the ground cos of snakes.
I seen that show, Amish Mafia. I think it's funny as crap. At the risk of sounding ignorant, if they are Amish, then why do some of them have cell phones and cars?

Put in a new ceiling light in yesterday. Had to put in a new electrical box too since the one tat was up there was a janky plastic one with the three tabs.

Yes, just looking for it, wifey n I are looking, but we (her) can't make final decision. So the hunt continues as this is holding up the project. gonna lay down wonder board but will make me mad without being able to have tile put on for god knows how long.

you could add another layer of plywood on top to cover gaps and stiffen it (maybe 1/2", 5/8"), then wonder board atop that... staggering and overlapping seams of course...

That's about all I can figure. :D They're the Mafia, so they do whatever the hell they want.

Been raining the past couple days, and I'm sick, so haven't even touched the Chicken coop since I posted that picture. :p

Screw wonderboard look at Ditra its a little more expensive but it is really easy to install and the OZ man really likes it as well.

Never heard of it? But this isn't my business. It's already22/32 ply, pretty stiff, but I assumed with 1/4 wonder board would be plenty stiff, but I'll look into ditra.

Wonderboard, durock, and Harbibacker doesn't really add any structural rigidity. Lay another layer of 1/2" ply wood with the face grain opposite direction of the existing floor. Then add 1/4" durock or hardiback on top of that. Or you could look into Schluter ditra mat (the orange waffle looking stuff).

It has been wet here for about four days as well. Tired of all this rain. I have ceiling to hang in the mancave but can't get motivated to do so. Still trying to decide on the flooring. I would like to have cork, for the insulation and all, but almost 4 dollars a sqft. @ 212 sdft is a little rough to buy right now.

Schluter Ditra is an uncoupling membrane , it allows for some movement in the structure while preventing cracks

another layer of 1/2 ply ontop the 3/4 and then 1/4 of the durock, and then the tile will result in the bathroom floor being about 2 inches taller than the hardwood hallway floor. that wont look right imo? right?

ah, didn't know what that was called. benefits are for "waterproofing" under tile essentially?
