With a Speed Square you can layout angles in degrees / pitch for rafters and layout their corresponding birdsmouths

    Is there something else ?

That reminds me of what a builder would ask an applicant to see if he knows their stuff..... "How do you check to see if a level is accurate in plumb and level?" If they got it wrong, most likely they wouldn't be hired by him.

I know most of what both can do but I keep the books in the truck, I don't frame enough to retain it.

Got the gas mileage down to 13mpg! Modification complete
Your truck is totally going to outlast that shed! I can't imagine the lifespan of one of those.

Wait just a minute, are you saying paper thin steel sheds with virtually no inside support structure aren't built to last a lifetime? I thought this was 'murica?!

Got all our front walls braced and rake walls built and sheeted with the exception of the kitchen / living end which we will build in the morning

We'll then be ready to start dealing with cutting the Glulam rafters

Never used a speed square to lay out stairs. Need big square for that.
I actually bought a book on the history of the steel square. Amazing how it has evolved over the years with advances in manufacturing.

    All switches were operational.
Two, in one bank on exterior wall, 1 for light, 1 for fan-power only, not speed.
And a single switch on an interior wall that was light only (so you could turn on/off entering/exiting kitchen.

And yes, the correct answer was to cap the red wire! We have a functional fan and light!

Very nice and I like your decor. Was this the same set of switches we dealt with recently?

I've known for a long time the previous owner was no plumber, but damn does this hurt my head.

I think we had the same previous owner. Plumbing. Electrical. Carpentry. It all sucks.

Worked on the end rake wall today , this wall has a shear wall doing pretty much all the lateral restraint for this end of the building

It is blocked with 4x6 parallam , will get 1/2" plywood both sides with 3" x .148 nails on 3" centres and uses the HDU11 hold downs with 5 million SDS screws on 1" Simpson embed bars

No! Different one. And I've not dealt with that yet.

Two switch panel in my loft bedroom. One switch operates an outlet (that I have a lamp plugged into.)
Other switch? I have NO idea. I've put a lamp in every outlet. Nothing. I've checked every outlet on both floors. Checked the bathroom too. Checked outside lights. All zero.

That is very strange. If you do decide to chase it down, you probably should get an electrician to do it. There may be more to the story.

Could it be going to a sump pump, motion light, ect device you wouldnt normally consider? I know one switch I had that I had no clue was the motion light outside. I assume you have taken the wall plate off and made sure the switch actually has wires going to/from it? Be weird but might have been an opps by the contractors.
