What product did you use to stain over stain? How much prep work is needed?

Used the entire tax return for new AC. 23 year old unit died last July. Now we're rolling with a Trane. So long, $3,142.00, it was nice never seeing ya'.

Not bad. Here you're looking at closer to $10k to replace a unit

We used 800 grit and 0000 to lightly sand the original clear. Then used general finishes gel stain to stain right over the original stuff. Then did 3 coats of a water based clear.

Was that just the Condenser unit or both airhandler and condensing unit?

So Obviously you upgraded from R22 to R410A correct?

Not much of a upgrade but my wife hated our bar height table so I cut the legs down and reassembled it. Four new chairs and a new setup is born. 20170417_103914.jpg

Oops! I knew I forgot something when I did mine last year...or maybe not needed if I was just replacing? Went from 12 x 16 to 60 x 16. Just a little bigger.

Exterior Condenser and coil under house. Blower/furnace is a 5 year old Rherm unit. Yes, swapped from R22 to R410. Trane model is XR-16, iirc.

I thought my deck was going to big.

Proof there is always someone with a bigger deck.

Pics or it...well, I gues pics of plans?

Don't worry. A smaller deck just means less inevitable rot to worry about. :cookiemonster:
