Even with power equipment, that's a lot of work. I don't envy your lower back.

The boys got the manifolds mounted and about 2/3 of the hydronic heating tubing down today

While they were doing that inside , we started detailing the walls for our rainscreen in anticipation of our windows coming next week and siding soon after that

    1/2" aluminum perforated j moulding

We use this as the bottom drain and top of wall vent . It acts as an insect barrier

    Bottom drain installed

Top vent installed between glulam rafters , spaced 1/2" down from roof decking

We ripped up all our scrap plywood we had left over from framing . I always put aside any scraps or rips and we use them for the rainscreen build ups , either as strips for horizontal siding like this house will have or as diamonds and blocks that we use for board and batten .

The 1/2" plywood strips slot down into the perforated aluminum J at the bottom and are nailed over the stud locations in the wall , the top of the strips slot into the upper vent perforated J with will create a 1/2" rainscreen "void" between the housewrap and the back side of the siding that is drained at the bottom for bulk water to drain out and a vent at the top that creates a convection current to allow for drying of the siding

This whole set up will make more sense next week as we install the plywood

    Attic guy finished cleaning.
Electrician found more damaged wires in attic.
Called one last local ac company for estimate. Surprised to see a female show up. Glad I called. She knew more than the guys from 2 previous companies that gave estimate. She drew up the house with windows, foam attic, true north, etc etc. Even pointed out not enough intake. Only half.
Look forward to estimate next week.

Would you show an example of this for the board and batten, I'm fuzzy on the 'diamonds and blocks' ?

Its about double the cost of cedar. I would bet it easily outlasts cedar.

With vertical siding like board and batten , our code does not allow you to simply put the rainscreen plywood sideways because the drainage cavity would then not be free draining because the plywood would act as a dam . So for board and batten there are a few different ways to do it , one way is to cut your plywood into 3" x 3" squares and fix those to the wall but when you do you rotate the plywood block 45 degrees so it goes in with a point facing up .

You mark your siding board layout on the wall first , then where 2 boards abut each other you put a vertical row of diamonds 12" to 24" apart vertically depending on your nailing schedule for the siding . The boards then get nailed through the edge of the board and through the plywood diamond .

The battens then get nailed through the plywood diamonds later too

In my board and batten system , I use a horizontal board ( usually about 4" wide ) that goes in board plane at the bottom of the wall I call the bottom ground . We make a 3/8" x 3/8" shiplap edge on it's top and when the boards are installed they get a mating shiplap edge cut in them with a laminate trimmer .

The bottom ground acts to block off the gaps that would otherwise be open to insects and rodents between the boards and under the battens at the bottom of wall .

Because it runs horizontally it gets vertical strips ( 6" long ) dropped into the perforated J just like how we are doing the ones on our current job

I call the bottom 6" plywood strips "blocks" , hence the 'diamonds and blocks'

Another option for board and batten , and also what I use behind sidewall wood shingles is this product or a combination of this profuct and plywood strips

Clear as mud , hope that answers your question , if not ask away

Electrical looks like a mess haha. Spent all day today burning up a brush pile leftover from the previous owner, and from what I've added to it. Got a couple of dead pines that I have to take down eventually but the outside of the house is slowly getting cleaned up.
