    Well, I just spent next summers vacation on quartz counters, a sink, faucet, floor tile and backsplash. Oh, and tile saw because the quartz cost just pushed me into doing everything else instead of just the prep for our tile guy.

    Did the veneer yesterday on my day off. I'm happy how it came out, just needs to be grouted and it'll be good to go. Just have to do the copper flashing, siding, and install two porch lights. Also just have to lay the first 100sq ft of flagstone and that'll be it till spring.

    I do like that option best aesthetically. Cost wise I am almost there anyway with the higher end alternatives. My concern with real wood is that the dogs will scratch it to hell, which I don't mind terribly personally, I'll just have to sand and stain them when we sell.

    Has anyone ever had quartz counters installed? Is there a time that they have to set and let the sealer harden? They are going in on the 21st, and we have family over on the 24th (merry Xmas to me with a total kitchen redo by then).

    Ask what product they are using to seal it with and how long it will take. Most sealants I've seen require 24-48 hours.
