You should check a US span table , I would be surprised if there is no 2x6 column , these joists are only spanning just over 7' , they are the equivalent of SS lumber today which at 24" OC would have an allowable free span of 8' 11" . , @ 16" OC I could go 10' 5" and @ 12" OC I could go 11' 3"

Concrete topping adds weight but limits vibrations and deflection as long as there is a composite action between the concrete and subfloor plywood ( ie there is no bond break between the concrete and subfloor )

Its a misconception that an allowable span for a certain size joist is the limit of it's resistance to failure , it is actually a limit for allowable deflection which has to do with comfort levels for occupants with respect to floor bounce primarily

The concrete topping at longer joist spans can actually increase the span of an identical sized joist at the same span as no concrete

The only place the additional weight of the topping comes into play is with the lateral restraint of the floor which is not a function of the floor but with the walls or foundation that carries the floor

Concrete over framing is not an uncommon practice

You guys ever see trusses on 2 foot span? You can literally see dips in the roof. It’s a common practice though.

No , lightweight gypsum based concrete works for thermal mass but is not considered "concrete topping" as far as the span tables

Thats a function of the plywood thickness used not the trusses , unless you think the trusses themselves are sagging because they aren't on 16" or 19.2" centres

I have trusses in my own house....as crappy as the wood is that they use...they are engineered....I put mine on 16 oc and 3/4 sheeting. My cantilever trusses are actually the most impressive they could carry 10’ on their own. (Ask me how I know)

Was this house originally a camp or beach house or something like that; or is this just the way they built them where you are back in the day?

The original portion of the house was a workshop or shed of some kind , but the way its built is typical for the era
