I’d tear out tile and stain slab if I could do again. Going to stain slab in barndominium instead of tile this time.

I installed my own hardwoods and tile. The tools are an upfront cost, and you need some skills, but the product was worth it. Another consideration is if you want something nicer then put in some cheaper carpet, save up some $$$ and re do it in a few years. I bought solid pre-finished hardwoods for $3.25/ft. I can usually do a bedroom in 2-3 days with baseboard. I tiled the traffic patterns around my great room and put the wood under the living space. Some of the vinyl snap lock stuff isn't bad if you are careful on the quality. Durable as hell and a decent look. If you tile then try not to do anything "trendy" or it will look like bell bottoms in 12 years LOL

Lol I’ve pulled carpet outta some filthy (section 8/HUD) places. Evidently some people don’t think they need to actually let their dogs outside to piss. I guess they were too busy not working lol. The padding was dissolved into a nice urea yellow powder A1544E7D-63D2-4412-ADDF-56786AF24D45.jpg

My house was built in 1996... It is an oak explosion with gold accents. I have a forest green toilet with gold flush handle!!! Like I said... Bell Bottoms guys. I need more pics but I did a 3 piece solid cherry baseboard in that room. Room by room I am slowly getting it where I want it. The floors were all closeouts and left overs from a family owned shop near by. I take my time, paint the ceiling, and walls, new floors and trim. I haven't attacked the windows... They are 22 year old Andersen's. I replaced some of the panels, but ultimately I know I am going to need new in the next 10 years.

I feel you on the respirator. I have multiple rentals. People get pissed when I refuse pets. No deposit on earth is worth the stench and repairs that an un attended pet causes. I love animals and have a cat. I was raised with dogs. They all take a toll in one way or another. Pets are a luxury. If you don't have the means to own your own place then don't get a dog. If you do get a dog then why is it always a "rescued" pit bull? Finally, did you really think that I would invite this animal into my investment for nothing or change my policy because you and your dog are special? Rant over. Sorry guys.

Had a lot of fun with this project. Still need to paint the walls and replace the verticals. Custom blinds are already on order and a built in entertainment center is being built next to mirror details of the fireplace and kitchen and make use of a stupid nook that was designed for those giant console rear protection TV's of the 90's.

Edit: @cafereef you were asking about shiplap last week. This is the HD product @joshua721 recommended. I'd highly recommend it - so easy.

My house was originally a 2bd/1bath. Hardwood in the living room and bedrooms while the kitchen and bathroom was linoleum. Somewhere along the way (60's) they added another bedroom and bath with carpet, then put shag carpet over the wood. Green in one room, gold in another and this multi-colored horror show in the living room. It had never been changed and when I bought the house, I guess the carpet was about 30 years old. When I pulled it up there was a layer of dirt so thick you couldn't see the hardwood floor.

All of the vinyl and carpet has been removed (except the Master, which is the last room needing renovation). I put tile in the bathrooms and all other floors had oak hardwood installed to match the original. It all had to be sanded and refinished so it would match. What an ordeal, but it is so much easier to keep clean - I inherited 2 cats when my GF moved in - than carpet.

Lol. Here's the green toilet that was in the bathroom when I bought my house. Ugly as sin, but man, did it flush well! It was a Mans Flush:

Taking the trailer and everything I can fit in it. My goal last year was to be able to do what I can in the shop on location. And I've been working towards that just added a festool router. Which added to the tracksaws rails is pretty fucking nice. I'm also trying to make some contacts in that area so I can possibly have access to a shop. If need be. From what he described he wanted to do to the place other than some built ins I see no issues.

Does the guide ride in the track, similar to the saw?

Clicked on the thread because I happened to see Festool... I come here to distract me from work and I end up seeing work here. I sell Festool and other woodworking equipment, awesome to see it in use here!

How do you like your 1400?

So far I like it, quiet and love the dust collection, the handle is still a bit awkward, and the bit change is overly complicated.

Festool wouldn't be a fan of that... Anything else I'd be glad to give you all first chance at!

The handle is normally one of the only complaints I get with it, but usually the good makes up for it! I find the handle to be normal and other routers to be odd since I grew up around Festool instead of Porter Cable/Bosch/DeWalt...

Not sure where you're located, but if you or anyone else would like to try anything Festool, I have demo tools and usually let people sign them out to borrow them. Not really trying to sell anything, but it beats buying something off the internet simply based on reviews!
