I'm hoping to not have to remove any of the roof shingles...maybe a nail or two, but that's all. I just don't have a ton of room to work. I'm sort of locked into where the existing step flashing is.

I put that temporary one up there before we got rain last night. It's getting most of it now as the overhang from the rake boards on the dormer provide some protection from above. Simple friction fit between shingle courses.

Thanks @OZ-T - I think I can make something work once I get up there and get those shakes removed. I need to order another box (pre-primed from BC) for a couple more windows I'm replacing as well.

I've been locking into that for just lighting inside currently I have to have the truck hooked up or be plugged in for lights.

That's not far off from what may be happening. I do have a truck bed tent but I want to set my hammock up off the ladder racks.

Be nice not sure if it's worth the foot print, I do think I can fit a little microwave.

    Top right shelf.

Basement update. The shiplap is almost done, I ended up buying pre-made and pre-primed shiplap from Home Depot. I did the math and this was much cheaper than buying a new table saw and plywood 4x8 sheets. Plus I was able to do 12' runs.

I am a big fan of form and function. The wall is form and function in that it is a load bearing wall that my builder did not even take a moments interest in ensuring it was square, so rather than fix it, or fir it out to make it flush for rocking it, shiplap went on instead (wife loves this look so it was a win win for me).

Second form and function is the "fireplace". I really hate that I have a sump pit in my living room, however I understand it is a necessary evil. Rather than simply build the angled wall and put a cabinet door on it to access the pit, I decided to make a fireplace. I found a nice electric insert on Amazon, reached out to the manufacturer to ask if it could sit on wood, to which they said it will not be an issue in the slightest. The fireplace is LED driven so no heat, but does have a built in space heater for up to 600 square feet so should serve a nice function there. But ultimately I am extremely happy to have hidden the sump pit, if I ever need to access it, the fireplace insert simply slides out. All of the shiplap still has to be trimmed and painted. The hearthstone will be a poured and polished concrete top. Happy with how things are coming along.

You need the dewalt tough system. Ive seen a ton of people doing it in vans and trailers. I have it in my garage and love it.

Rigid and Milwaukee dont offer the rack system do they? If you DIY it you can use the brackets that fold in like the picture below. Sure would make for a flexible space.

Rather than those straps, put a small lip at the bottom of each tool shelf/bin, and or consider a vertical lockbar attached at top and bottom of each bin column, of that makes sense. Like a pice of aluminum angle with holes drilled at either end (floor and top) to accept clevis pins or the like to attach it to hasps or the like secured to the cabinet. Make sense?

    This concept:

Have you seen Paulk's crazy ass trailer? He made infinitely flexible storage bins for tools and such that utilized a horizontal box with a ton of kerfs in the top and bottom that accommodate movable separator walls that slide in wherever you want. Visualize a shelf full of vinyl LPs.

The wife wants a shiplap wall in the 3rd bedroom turned office. I went and saw the shiplap at hd but I didn't like the texture and look. Too smooth/plasticy. So I'll be attempting the poor mans version of ripping plywood.Looks good in your basement though.

It's the Paulk stand I bit awhile back cut down to fit. His trailer is nuts. Mine was plywood I had in the shop just to get it in operation. I debated the lock bar idea the straps aren't bad when I remember to double check them..... I'm also thinking of sticking to the smaller dewalt table saw. I'm hoping I get the time to build it out more, but as busy as i am with everything that has to happen to make the move go it's going to be close. And 15° weather isn't helping

I agree on the smooth plastic texture. If we were not planning on painting it, I would have gone for wood grain

Looks great - no issues with moisture and that electric fireplace/wood framing/shiplap being built over a wet sump pump? Great way to hide it if not.
they sell unpainted wood shiplap also. One home Depot by me also had prestained "barn wood" shiplap that looked nice. Reasonably priced too. Well worth it to not have to stain it yourself if it works for your space.
