I would have praised it if it were a motorbike wheel however it is not. I really like both versions of your fireplace transformation.

Thanks! I would argue that it was completely safe before. The problem was that it was not a gas insert, but rather gas logs in a wood burning fireplace. Code says once woodburning always woodburning so I had to meet code in the event it was ever converted back to woodburning.

Not familiar with fireplaces or the codes involved.. but this is probably to prevent someone burning the house down 10 years from now after you sell it and the new owner 'converts' it back to a wood burning fireplace. Obviously the new owner would be dumb to do that without consulting a professional.. but.. building code tries to help dumb people stay alive a little longer.

Either way, I like it better now. A job done twice is a job done nice!

Nice. I've got a friend with a big cnc was thinking of having him do my bench tops for my trailer set up so I wouldn't have to drill all the holes.

My first week out of town on an 8 month assignment and I get water leak in a pipe above my kitchen.

I was thinking about redoing my kitchen next year. I guess that just got moved up on the list. Ans I might as well re-pipe my house while I’m at it. I was up in the attic and found some bad spots on my galvanized water pipe that is 40 years old. I feel like this may be a ticking time bomb.
