When we did our kitchen last year we did 40" cabinets with 18" spacing. 8ft ceilings. Haven't had a problem with anything fitting under there, kitchenaid mixer just gets stored in the pantry cabinet and put on the island when needed. I want to put under mount lightings in like oz-t showed. Just need to put up the tile backsplash and the kitchen will be done

Kitchens are boring. I expect next year my kitchen will consist of a campfire and one pan next to my truck and trailer.

Any tips for running electrical to a new kitchen island?

I’m doing a full renovation of my kitchen and putting in new flooring. I just started pondering the idea of somehow running a conduit thru my slab. Slab is not post tension. Maybe sawcut a shallow 1”x1” or so trench to run conduit and then seal in.

When we worked on trump hotel in D.C. That's what we did for our low volatage cables. Just use flex.

You mean I should do it myself and run undersized wire on an over loaded breaker :notsure:

Honestly running it in the 1"x1" cut in the slab seems fine BUT your local code might not allow it. Your local electrician SHOULD be able to answer your question but if you would like to comb through local code and figure it out yourself. :hattip:

Victory with getting that wallpaper off. Finally wrapped that up today with a small section above the LR window(s). Had to hang some plastic to protect from drips/overspray.

A little repair on some drywall where the paper peeled (the house is plaster, but this small section is drywall where someone patched to the left of the window.

Time to scrub walls with TSP and then start some patching/filling of holes.

    :amen: TO THAT!

This was the final room to remove the WP. Most of the other rooms were pretty easy. I think they used construction adhesive to hang the paper in this room. :frusty:

Going with a light beige on lower wall, baseboards, chair-rail and mantle and a slightly darker beige on top half.
