I dug down so top of 8" thick footings is at underside of drain so the water following the drain pipe trench is uninterupted by the new concrete work , I actually free formed a trough in the top of the footings when we poured them Friday and the water is flowing freely

I posted a bunch of photos of a modern house I just completed if you go back in this thread exactly about a year

I lived in FL for almost 20 years. I don’t care if they’re ‘palmetto bugs’ it’s still a flying cockroach!

And let’s just take a moment to be thankful spiders don’t have wings.

I have finally gotten to the point where we are truly at the finishing touches on our basement project. I have some small pieces of trim left to put up and silicone but all in all, we are finally ready to start buttoning things up.

My in laws every year like to pick me up some kind of tool for Christmas, knowing this year that my basement was our big project, and knowing how much I absolutely hate painting. They bought me an Graco X5 airless paint sprayer to help with my animosity towards it. I can say, that outside of cleanup, this thing is amazing. We painted the ceiling in the bedroom and closet in no more than 15 minutes, including spraying, back rolling, and then spraying and back rolling in the opposite direction.

Cleanup was a pain in the ass, but this was two fold, one being that it was my first time using it. Second being that you have to hook a hose up to the pump and push water through it that way to really clean it well. This wouldn't be in an issue if it were spring or summer...but being sub 10 degree's F outside I had to get creative. I couldn't find any sink / garden hose adapters that would fit any of my faucets at any of the brick and mortar hardware stores, so I decided to just cut my sprinkler main line in my basement, put in an additional shutoff valve and then add a hose bib fitting to the existing drain below it. This will help me when I winterize my sprinklers in the future so somewhat of a win win, but just added to my cleanup project.
