Cope and stick joints pocket screwed from the back ?

 

That's what I was thinking.

 

A little different actually. All of our door panels will be traditional cope and stick joints, no pocket screws. We are doing faceframes with pocket screws and kreg jigs beaded face frame system. Cope and stick is a quarter round detail right? These are full 1/2 round beads with a fillet. Heres the tool that makes it easy, we let all the styles and rails in first, then run everything through a regular router table with a 5/16 bead.

Yes. The inspector noted it on his report. You could even see the writing that stated "this side toward living space"

Replaced the termite board and plywood. Got the underlayment in. It took all of Saturday and most of Sunday. About 600 sq ft.

 

Anyone have textured ceilings? It has come time to scrape of the god awful popcorn ceiling and after much research, I feel confident in tackling the "skip trowel" ceiling texture. Any advice?

My current ceilings are not level enough to leave them smooth.

I used a new bug sprayer to mist the ceilings and scraped them. Then I floated them and did knock down texture.came out good.

Yep. It cost me a grip but it's so much easier to lift, cut and put in place. I'm sure it saved me a ton of time and spared me some back pain.

I did overestimate how much I needed. I bought 3 rolls (323 sq ft) when I only needed two.

 

Can't lose with that product especially if there is any movement in your floor or cracks in a slab

 

That's primarily why I bought it. Plus it gives me a uniform surface for laying the tile. We're laying the same tile over concrete and plywood.

As an added bonus, when my chihuahua walks across it, it sounds like he's tap dancing.

Started laying tile last night.

 

Its good stuff. I bought the 323 sq/ft roll when I did my kitchen. The left over are for 2 bathrooms when I get around to doing them. Its really easy stuff to install and is cheap insurance.

Also evil monkey. If you use a 1-1.5 inch paint brush is cut the bristles down to about an inch or so it will make cleaning excess thinset out of the grout joints as you go alot easier.

That's a good tip. I've been using a popsicle stick. It works pretty well.
