This. I did the exact same thing. Got a Stainless Silver with a cover for $30, cleaned it really real well and replaced the grates for $50. Really nice grill for $80.

one big advantage of weber grills is their parts are available for years. There is a reason they are IMHO the best gas grill you can buy. not that my opinion is worth much haha, but they are solid grills.

Ran into issues over the weekend. So I used T wedges on the tile to ensure that when I engaged the wedge, the tiles would level out. Being a DIY homeowner I discovered the error of my ways in not first back buttering the tiles. once I was about 33% of the way through, I started doing so, but was not overly concerned about the first 1/3rd as the tiles were not moving and I did seat them well, at least I assumed I did. Saturday morning I went and broke all the T wedges out and was sweeping the spacers and the wedges away and could hear a nice hollow sound under the tiles I did not back butter.

So I was left with two choices, leave it and be bothered by the mistake forever, or break them out and fix it and do it right. I opted for the second and broke out a dozen or so tiles (any that were hollow sounding) and ground out the mortar that was there and re-did them. I am very happy that I did this as I know it would have been an issue later, but still a pain none the less. Live and learn right? it's only a mistake if you do not learn from it. Sunday I grouted the joints, will begin the process of cleaning the tiles off tonight after work.

That really sucks, but you did the right thing. You would have regretted it if you didn't. Looks great!

Well started on the countertop project. Suprisingly everything is coming thursday/friday. Only a week for shipping a crap ton of stuff.

But got 2/3rd of the counter top removed and durock down. Thankfully whoever buys the house if they decide to replace this its only silicon to hold it down (plus the weight and shape and all that).

Dont mind the overhang portion. The corners are going to get orunded out to be a bit more "kid friendly" and also theres some supports that go under it

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Can you kill the power to that circuit and see if the buzzing goes away? Sounds like loose wiring. If the buzzing goes away, pull the outlet out and check for a loose wire.

Thanks. I'm going to check the wiring today to see if its loose. Since the buzzing isn't consistent it'll be hard to determine by killing the power.

    Id shut the breaker off
Arcing can happen intermittently plus you’re gonna be messing with the wires lol
Might be a bad receptacle too. Is it a GFCI?

I’d check that one too. You prolly already know this but oftentimes in a kitchen a gfci will be the first receptacle in a circuit and will feed/protect the rest of them

My mom is wrapping up a renovation on her house and getting ready to do some landscaping. Over the weekend I demolished this old fort that we had on our bank when I was growing up. The wood was rotten and quite ugly. My wedding reception is going to be in the back yard in the middle of May so this thing had to go.

I also hauled away some greenery from a bush that was in the front yard of her house.

The before picture. There used to be a tarp roof over this thing, but it rotted away from sun exposure over the last 20 years.
    IMG_2973.jpg

Most of the demo took about 20 minutes with a mini sledgehammer and a pry bar.
    IMG_2974.jpg

Digging out the post footings was a lot easier than expected. They were only about 12-18 inches deep. Could have been a lot worse. Soft dirt helps too.
    IMG_2975.jpg

Almost there. I broke up the concrete footings with an 8 lb sledgehammer to make them easier to load in the truck.
    IMG_2976.jpg

Done! Lots of random debris in this soil. Spent some time raking it out but ultimately gave up. This bank was constructed in the 60's so that's a lot of time for stuff to accumulate.
This is a nice blank slate for the landscapers to work with in the next couple of weeks.
    IMG_2977.jpg

Had to cut down a few of the scraps to fit in my 6' bed with the gate closed. Lots of nasty nails left in this stuff.
    IMG_2978.jpg

Loaded up some brush to take to the dump as well. I put a tarp over all this and drove about 14 miles to the dump. Can you believe they charge $54 to drop this load off?

I woulda had a bonfire with that before I paid that much. Landfill here is free for county residents, that's where I dropped all my crap off when we gutted the house last year. Took a ton of trips over the course of the Reno but saved me a $400 dumpster rental.
