Home Depot cemented my love again today. Stopped by during work to pick up some new Torx bits and they had a sign advertising the free $199 stand with qualifying DeWALT miter saw purchase - this was the DWS780 and the FlexVolt version. I asked the cashier if there’s any chance I can snag that deal (which I was looking for) since I just picked up my 780 a couple weeks ago. Timing didn’t work in my favor so I bought the saw anyway, sans stand deal.

10 minutes later she refunded my original saw purchase, “charged” me for a new purchase today and got me a stand waiting for me at will call tonight.

I figured it was going to be a no-go, but eh.. worst case I walk out with exactly what I needed to buy today. Decided to ask, and boom.

Home Depot customer service is awesome. :woot:

I got a free air compressor from my dad last weekend, I fired it up today and the belt started slipping when the pressure got to about half capacity. Any idea where to get Craftsman belts? It's an older version of the horizontal twin tank 155psi compressor. I'll have to grab the model # after work. It's a fairly small belt.

Edit: It's nearly identical to this newer one. Only difference are the outlets are down towards the bottom of the tanks.

Try NAPA or Tractor Supply and see if they can match the belt.

Have you checked sears parts website? They carry craftsman parts. Unfortunately their prices aren't great (at least for my snowblower). Searspartsdirect.com

Sometimes you can tell what company made craftsman's product. They rebrand products from several companies.

Got home, was actually a husky. Found the belt on Amazon for 10 bucks. Sounds like a good deal for a $10 working compressor.
Edit: thanks for the help everyone! Sorry for my misinformation!

I was able to clean up the mess and the old doors fit on the new frame. I still haven't found out how much a replacement panel will be so I will hold off on changing the door handles for now.

Looking for some opinions on an air compressor and nailers. Here are my choices with a budget around $500. Most of my work will be simple home reno work, framing up a wall here and there, building simple shelves, ect. I will also be replacing all the soffit and fascia on my house in the future. I am leaning toward option #4 because I trust the reliability of RIDGID tools and this option gives me all RIDGID with money left over. I'm just not sure how the the pancake compressor will handle the framing nailer. with light use.

Pancakes fine for that. Unless I have to guns going full speed like roofing the pancake is fine.

I would think long term. I would get the Huskey 20 or 30. The pancakes are very loud and don't hold much volume. You might want other air tools later on that require a larger volume of air. I like the uprights because they don't take up as much room.

All these posts about table saws got me looking at a new one and the wife caught me. Mine is a 15 year old cheapo off craigslist. She thinks that I need a safe one like at work and suggested i get the same kind we have there. We use only sawstop saws.... do I tell her how much more that will be or remind her later that it was her idea?
