Funny story. I didn't want the tri-fold kind as they take up too much room. I just Google searched for "single panel fireplace screen" and viewed results in images and scrolled until I found this one that I liked. Was expecting to have to order, but this one was on the Ace Hardware site, so I checked inventory at my local store and they had one remaining in stock. Drove over and grabbed it. Was the exact size, style and color I wanted/needed.

It has doors...not sure if you can tell from the pic.

Where did you source that screen for the fireplace? Been looking for a nice simple one and failing miserably.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
You have to cut the bad area out and replace it with a new piece. The fun part is matching up the wood and grain pattern to make it unnoticeable.

Thanks, yes I saw the doors, that's what really caught my attention. I have a fake Puraflame fireplace, but wanted the doors to access the control panel if necessary. This is perfect.

This one was slightly larger than my opening. So I didn't need to install the feet/braces on the back. Those would be needed if the screen fit within the opening.

Cleanout plate & grate all dried and reinstalled.

Decided to paint the screen an Oil Rubbed Bronze color to match the light fixtures and curtain rods in the LR and adjacent DR.

Needed a second lam trimmer so I wouldn't need to change bit settings and seeing as I already have a corded one I decided to get the 18V cordless Makita

We're on the last lap , last row of soffit on the lower roof section , will finish tomorrow

So I did a little research and one trick was to score the spot in the direction of the wood grain with knife or razor blade. That would help it take the stain better in those spots and hide them. I tried it and it actually worked (kinda), not perfect but with my wifes pressure to get the door back on the house asap... that is what I ended up doing. Last coat of finish is drying so ill update with an after pic.

I had to sand way more aggressively than I would have liked, which also left some not so good sanding marks... some I did not see until I stained.

So for some reason or other,my house never had a front walkway put in from the driveway to the front door. Me and my buddy spent two hours digging out a pathway and then laid the base course of crusher run down for the sidewalk. It's going to be the same flagstone material I'm using on the back patio to tie everything together.

What is really weird is that the door weathered, but the trim did not. I put 3 good coats of spar urethane onit. Seems like good stuff and should hold up until the bad spots on it bug me enough that I want to buy a new one.

I don't have a storm door because I am reluctant to cover up this door, that also may be a good option.

Yeah I'd paint or just replace the door.

And I'm so confused on the plan these tile professionals have.
