My AC unit on my house is raised like this, it's about 3 feet off the ground. Only reason I can think is because my yard is sloped. The houses in my neighborhood are all by the same builder, those with a flat lot have the unit on a pad on the ground, those with slopped lots like mine, are all bracketed to the house floating.

Well my trusty ole Ryobi drill died. Least it died doing what it loves....drilling holes. The motor kept getting really hot so i knew it was on its way out but still a sad day lol. It went out drilling a 2-1/2" hole in a nice smoke cloud.

now to decide if i get the brushless ryobi or switch to another brand....probably stick with ryobi since i have other tools in their lineup

Building one of those prefab play structures has been pushing my Craftsman cordless stuff to the limit. I can feel the impact housing getting hot after some of the longer stretches. Driving some of the big lags I switched over to the 1/2" cordless impact. Considering switching my entire kit out for a new Makita set, but at a touch over $1,000 to replace all of my tools, I'll just keep using the Craftsman until it explodes.

When I finally get around to finishing my patio cover I plan to use the GRK screws. For the kids play structure, though, I'm using all of the included hardware.

I also use the Hillman ceramic construction lags if I'm building something load bearing.

Ill more than likely stay with ryobi. Its done well and everything else is running fine. i am sure the impact will die one of these days but it took quite a load to it on accident.

It normally stays pretty cool overall. Its only been the last few times it would get extremely hot extremely fast. Im talking like 5-10 seconds of use and you could feel heat off the cover when you touched it. More than that and it would (i assume) thermal throttle itself and just stop.

It honestly got pushed harder than it should have been at times. I really should have gotten the corded dewalt drill out for some stuff.

Thanks but I'm all good. I was able to scrape the glue off in most places and the compound came out nice and smooth. Ready for primer and paint this weekend.

    Removed a wall today...

Before: (Sorry for the bad pic, it’s a screen grab from a video my wife made while looking at the home)

Not a support wall I hope. Looks like a long stretch that met at the end of it there.

Nope it’s not, it’s a very narrow home, I could take all the interior walls out and not worry

Gotcha. Looks deceiving from this angle. Thought it was a longer stretch to the back wall.
