The concept about 20 but the actual building of it really only became feasible in the last year

    I have an insulation question.
Using a thermal imaging camera I discovered a few voids in the walls of my house (built in 1926).
They are mainly above the windows and in a wall next to a radiator.
What is the best way to add insulation in those voids?
    Thanks. :hattip:

Depending on the framing style. You could do blown in small holes to patch.

When laying ceramic tile on a slab is there any quality difference between a paintable ant-fracture vs the felt sheet kind?

Doesn't that deviate from your standard practice of building the foundation in freezing mud and snow?

Do you know what the primary difference is between the materials?

I will keep Ditra on my materials list.

Your looking for an uncoupling membrane. And really depends on the size, age and if there are control joints or cracks.

If it's a small area a hood thinset and wetting the area down would suffice. If its larger goes over any cracks or control joints an uncoupling membrane( ditra ect.) Is recommended.

As mentioned before u could dense pack some cellulose in the wall areas by the radiators with a blower. However, for this small of an area I would go with something like this: https://sprayfoamkit.com/mobile/filling-existing-walls/
high dollar but will save with refinishing cuz it’s a much smaller hole :)

Those areas over the windows seem to have some air infiltration based on the focused heat source. Or maybe they just forgot to insulate above the headers and the heat is moving around the plate. In either case the foam would be a better air barrier than cellulose.
