I meant a water meter , that way he could verify if he had a leak or not

Plummer is coming out on Saturday to install a pressure gauge and hopefully get me a set up for a gas stove.

I’ll verify if I have a meter somewhere near my utilities by the street, because I don’t have one in or near the line to the house.

So I'm 99% certain this wasn't here 6 months ago, but it's been raining pretty hard for hours and I see no sign of moisture in this area. I've checked the outer window for cracks around framing and places where caulking has failed but it all looks pristine. I know I'll probably have to have this ripped out and reset to figure out exactly what is going on, but just for my curiosity, is there something I haven't though of as a source for this? There's a window directly above it with no signs of problems. It seems to just be this one

is it just the one side or both sides? They may not have caulked the window around the edges and its seeping through.

Yep, just one side from about 3inches from the top of the frame all the way to the bottom. I'll double check the caulking, but last I looked, it looked pretty solid .

Are the windows stacked on top of each other like a giant picture window or is just directly above it on the next floor? Either way I'd look into that upper window more thoroughly.

There's a large picture window above it with about a 3ft gap that is the wall between them. I'll get a picture when I get back home .

Wonder if it’s getting in from the top one and working it’s way through the structure to the lower? Chasing water sucks IMO

Yup. That's also a concern of mine too, I just don't see a spot that water could be coming in from the outside. I almost wonder if condensation could do that somehow . But if that were the case, it should be around more windows .

Is there damage all the way up? If there is /was a roof leak it could possibly have ran down a rafter and dropped on top of that wall and ran down the jamb.

Edit I just saw it was only that opening.

Yeah that's the part that's throwing me too. I figure it has to be the casing, but I can't find anywhere that water could get in at.

How is that top curved window flashed at it's head ?

Also , the gutter you can see through the window , does it terminate at the wall these windows are in ? If so what does the flashing look like where the bottom of that roof pitch intersects the wall with these windows in it ?
