Completed and installed this large built in for a client. They wanted a wall of storage for their kids toys. Two more similar projects for them coming up, a few smaller projects for some other people, my master bathroom renovation and my full time day job all happening at the same time. The work is there, just need the time. Cabinets and doors all custom made from scratch to fit their nook perfectly.

    Anybody around familiar with furnaces?

My neighbor texted me and said theirs isn’t working.

I’m not there yet but it’s a gas Bryant, has 3 blinking red LEDs and the fan is running for a few minutes then stopping.

I have no experience with furnaces but hoping the LEDs will tell me an error code, and if the fan is short cycling maybe it’s just a bad fan. She said when it does come on it makes kind of a grinding sound, so maybe the bearing is shot? Tripping a thermal fuse and shutting down?

Would appreciate any pointers. Going to go over in a bit and see if I can help somehow.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Make sure the exhaust isn't clogged.

Let us know the model when you can. Maybe we find something

Turns out to be what I figured. Blower motor is dead, was replaced in 2012 but windings are bad.

Ordered another on Prime since the only local appliance parts house is sold out on that model motor.

Will go back and fix it Tuesday.

Small addition to the garage but one that’s made a huge improvement especially now during daylight saving time. When open, the garage door blocks my over heads lights so I only get light in the rear half of the garage at night. The problem is that the rear half is designated as storage and the front half of the garage is my work space. I added these little guys to the garage door itself:

Monios-L Linkable LED Under Cabinet & Closet LED T5 Light Bar, 2FT, 9W 800 Lumens, 4000K Daylight White, Plug and Play, 3 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072KJQDHG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_3N45BbEYBPXWA

    The pictures speak for themselves:

    A707192A-6665-4F57-9E88-3B33CC87D79C.jpg

The lights are linked together but each one has a switch that turns them on and off independently of each other. The only issue I had was that the wiring provided in the kit to link the lights was about 6 inches long so I had to extend it. Not a big deal but I noticed a few of the bad reviews mentioned that. It should also be noted that it did come with three separate plugged ends so you could use each light in a different location if you chose.

I’ve been playing with lighting for that area for a while. This is the probably the final iteration. The lights are super light weight to the point that they almost feel “cheap” but I banged them around a bit to check for flickers (a result of shitty internal wiring), and nothing so they should hold up to the opening and closing of the garage door.

Yes. I have a HF that I use the shit out of. The only drawback is that it's loud as hell. My buddy has a DeWalt that is exponentially quieter, it's on my to buy list when the HF gives up the ghost.

Was tempted to buy the Milwaukee M18 version yesterday, was hoping they had a Fuel counterpart so I passed on it but didn’t find one in the Fuel line up when I got home.

Home Depot had the bare tool for $119, corded Multimaster was $199.99.

I know the Fein has always been the captain of industry type tool, but I can get the Milwaukee online for $84.99 shipped. Is the Fein worth the double plus premium for a home gamer? I’m a buy once, cry once kind of guy, but none of my tools make me money and I’d much prefer a cordless model.

Anybody have the Milwaukee? I read they suck a lot of juice, but this isn’t a problem for me. I can always buy a bigger battery later if the job(s) call for it. Just don’t want to regret my choice later.

Neither is inexpensive compared to a HF.

    Thanks.

I have used the Milwaukee and it worked like a champ. I'm with you on cordless, go for it.

Meh. Nice to have but not the tool I grab first either. Nice to have for tight spots where a normal, say, jigsaw wont work. If its not a space limited area I much prefer my Rotary Cutter (for things like drywall)

I more see it as another tool that is nice to have in the "stockpile" but also not one I would run out and buy either without a need for it

I bought a Fein, (due to “professional” reviews by “real” contractors) it lasted a month and a half. I in turn bought the cordless DEWALT because I’m a DEWALT guy. It’s fallen from rafters, ladders, down holes, burned through countless floors, walls, nails, wood, metal, it looks like a truck ran it over, and it still working just as well as it has the same day I bought it.
