nothing more anxiety filled than hanging my 70" above the fireplace with wall anchors. My god i rarely slept the first night.

 

I dont get why people hang TVs above fireplaces. The fire place is supposed to be the centerpiece of the room!
But thats just my opinion and I dont watch a lot of TV. Floor to ceiling brick or tile for what a TV costs would be my route.

 

cool story.

My fireplace is the center of my living room and we dont and wont ever use it as a fireplace. I literally have no other wall in the living room to hang nor put the TV.

 

Also if certain stars align, I will be hanging around this thread a lot in the near future.

Ill throw a question out there anyway....
Deets-
In ground garage, concrete on exposed walls and above floor/ceiling, has furnace but stays slightly above temp without it on.
The front ceiling portion is below a deck space and is just a slab exposed to outside air.
The exposed concrete ceiling and walls frosts up, of course. Making heating it more of a waste of energy than its worth.
Question-
How can I insulate the these areas the best I can without doing a full stick, drywall, insulation and vapour barrier? (Its already tight in the garage). I was considering something like the pink foam sheets but am worried about condensation forming (equals mold) where it contacts the concrete. Some sort of air gap maybe?

Yeah, it makes sense

 

I'm in the same boat and also used wall toggles to mount a 65". I swear I went into super slow mo as I stopped supporting the TV and let it hang on the arm.

 

This is also my plan as well.

95% done with my basement remodel. Just trim and a few other things to clean-up.

First picture was taken sometime in the late 70’s/early 80’s.

 

Could be , there are DIY set ups , I get mine done by my insulation contractor .

Gotta use 2lb vs 1/2lb foam though

 

Any chance you guys have plans for this? I would just build it to suit what I have but my step-dad is wanting to build one and keeps telling me he needs plans.

It’ll have sides that will help with cutting longer boards.
