One thing to be careful about propane heaters is they produce moisture and may cause your wood to warp and twist. And it may effect some finishes sensitive to moisture.

This stuff is terrific as well. Dries fast, no shrinking, and sands easily.

    Guys, need some guidance, please
See the pics and how do I fix this leaking and wood issues. I can’t take the doors out as I am by myself and kinda out in the boonies.
Was thinking to take off the trim and flash behind that and then put the trim back on???? Dunno just WAG-ing really.
The first pic is from the inside and you can see light outside. It also has some of the floor wet inside.... Fark
The second pic is from outside

The front trim on the front should come off easy, then flash/seal it and put it back on.

Man that brick mold has a lot of algae on it
U must have a frequent issue with water splashing up on it.

Need more pics from the outside of the door/wall lol looks like your brick mold sits flush with your siding, whereas it should overlap/seal it

Are your studs 2x6? It kinda looks like they put a door assembly made for a 2x4 wall into a 2x6 wall and they made their rough opening to swallow the whole assembly, brick mold and all. If this is the case you’ll want to pull the door, make the rough opening narrower (should be 1/2” wider than jamb), take the brickmold off the jamb, reinstall door, nail a rip of 1x4
to the jamb that brings it flush with the siding then reattach brick mold so it caps the jamb and a strip of new siding that will cover the new edge of the now-narrower framing rough in. Use lots of 100% silicone caulk below door and between brick mold edge and siding
Door install can be done by one person just take your time and attach hinge side directly to framing first then use shims when attaching the rest of jamb so the reveal between door and jamb stays the same all the way around.

Might wanna hire a contractor if you’re not sure lol

At least it’s flashed so hopefully your ledger board and everything behind it isn’t rotten....I’d check for that while you’re at it

    The joys of homeownership :)

Looks like they pulled the housewrap tight by wrapping it around the jack stud and then never cut it off........maybe ?

Looks like its taped at the bottom plus looks to be below the height of the subfloor

You'll have to post back with how you end up liking it.

What was your reasoning for going to the tankless?

Ok, here are the pics to give a better perspective.
From inside and then from the outside and I panned to my right.

It gets worse, so I went to put 3/4 plywood down in the bathroom as my buddy picked up a brand new jaqussi bath surplus for $165. I figured that I better put down 3/4 for the weight, well upon closer inspection the studs on one wall were hangin from the ceiling with 6” nails and some were about 2” off the ground and the others went to the 1/4” plywood floor and of course no where near a joist...

I got into this to help a friend who is 80 in a month or so, as he got talked into this, as a great investment....

The neighbor came over today and gave me the 411 on the history. So the lady who lived here was a hoarder and the kids who got it figured they would make lots of $$$$ by renovating it. They started and then bailed because they had way to much on to finish.... My buddy is friends with one of the ones that inherited it....

Fark, Fark, Fark....Oh, well I’ve started and I will finish.... but I mean...fark:cheers:

Huh. Well the door isn’t set back too far in the wall like it appeared in the last pics. Might just be something shoving the bottom of the siding out, maybe water swollen sheeting lol

Might just try filling the gap with low expansion foam and capping the exterior gap with an extension nailed onto the side of the brickmold

U defininity need to cap your rafters with a fascia board and hang a gutter from it, that will help your moisture problems
