    Got all my verticals fitted today for the curved windows as well as the window / door set to the right , I was racing against the incoming rain that was forecast as I am set up outside

    Just managed to get them all cut , fit and sanded and the downpour set in literally 5 minutes later , haha

    Here is my curved window set with all elements fitted

    After I took this pic the verticals came back out to be sanded

    I will install all these pieces tomorrow and I'm done

    roughly 4" thick x 9" wide, ...i plan to have my benchtop about 68" long, will probably do a split-top design w/ a tool well in the center...

    ...seems pretty dry, i'll let them sit in the garage for a week before trying to flatten and true up the faces and edges..

    ...poplar... i wanted to get beech or soft maple, ...but i saw they had these and thought it would be easier to start from than a big messy glue-up job...

    ...don't have a moisture meter, unfortunately...

    Nice , I've never worked with poplar but I've read it machines nicely .

    I built quite a few drawer boxes from poplar. Wasn't terrible to work with. Being so thin (3/8) you could blow out dovetails or crack them if you weren't careful.

    i built my bench frame mostly out of poplar (poplar w/ some pine), ...it is very easy to work w/ thus far for me... as you say, it does "machine" nicely; it really planes very well, and the grain is quite nice...
