What's the proper way to measure for new windows?
I measured inside surface to inside surface and got 22.375"x58".

I have Smartthings and I like it. The samsung sensors are reasonably priced and work well. The Smartthings hub is compatible with a lot of other companies.

I have some water leak sensors, door sensors, smart outlets for christmas lights, and a motion sensor that turns the kitchen light on in the middle of the night. I havent done any of the fancy automation some people do

Is there a monthly fee with your system. The Vivint system is really expensive when you count the monthly subscription charges. And, personally I'm not a fan of "small" monthly service charges. I'd much rather just buy it and own it.

N-fabs, BakFlip VP, power tailgate lock, bed lights, "raptor" grill lights. Standard mall crawler stuff.
I also have Smartthings. There is no subscription fee. It's not a home security really but what's really great about it is that it works with so many different manufacturer's. It works with Zigbee and Z-wave which at this point are the 2 main types of wireless communication for home automation and security.

Edit: I should add that though it's not home security you can have it alert you if someone opens a door or window or there is motion. (with tons of option as to when to send alerts or not)

    ^this  ^

We are of the same thought. I look at working on my house as a hobby, so I don't value my labor the same as a guy who does it for a living. Since labor is one of the most expensive parts I can go with the high end stuff and still come out ahead.

Mocking up the panel for the shed.

And finally, how would you guys add an exterior semi weather resistant storage area to this side of the shed? It would be used to store a push lawn mower and gas cans, as well as spare fence boards.

Your carrier will thank you, not only for the bigger box but also for it being the proper height.
