Found out the outlet I was using in my garage isn't a gfci but is wired to all my gfcis(I think). After resetting every breaker in my house it wouldn't come back on, no power to any wires in the box. It stopped working after running a laptop and my 3d printer on it for a month. On a whim I decided to check my gfcis. Sure enough, they were all tripped. Hopefully it came back on, have to check it when I get home.

This may make a bit more sense

We set that staging up to use as a lifting tower for our 3 main 18' long , 6x12 Fir covered deck timbers

    We lifted them in today

Future kitchen / living area is our timber prep shop , I have a new set of 2' aluminum sawhorses that make timberwork far more comfortable than the 3'ers . Our timber cart from 3 jobs ago still lives there to the left , we moved all these around with it

Lifting the centre timber with the chain hoist

Closer look at how we have it rigged

3 main timbers in place on their 6x6 posts (currently wrapped in Typar for weather protection)

Had a 50a range breaker keep popping two days in a row, second day I investigated and realized the breaker was quite warm. Felt the wire and that about burned my fingertips. Flipped the breaker off for the night and monitored the temp.

Nest day I purchased a new 220 plug for the range and a new 50a breaker. Replaced both and no issues now. I’d guess was the breaker but the plug was old and original.

    Scary stuff at first though.

Very nice. When we set timbers that it doesn't make sense to get a crane for and we can't reach with a lull, we use these buggers:

    https://www.zoro.com/genie-equipmen...o95j5bwMnlcaTM9vRoCUI8QAvD_BwE#specifications

We use them quite often for interior work, they come in handy as deadman too

Ok question, for anyone who's used a contractor before.

The guys I'm using have gone way over schedule already. At the start of this month I said "be done by the end of the month May 31st or we negotiate taking money off" they said "ok". So now it's 1 week away and there is no way they finish next week, though they say they are confident they will....but they've said they were confident about a lot of things that didn't happen.

So they want a draw today to pay for the week but I told them I'm not giving them a check till we come to an agreement on how much discount I get when they go past May 31st. How would you handle this?

I told them what I thought was fair....to take the total contract agreement price (36,100) and divide it by the entire duration of work (started Feb 18th supposed to end May 31st, so 75 work days) so 36.1k divided by 75 is 480...so it's cost me $480 per day for them to work and NOT finish. I told them offer me savings of $400/day of them going over schedule AGAIN and I'm in agreement...they came back and said $50/day. It made me laugh out loud. If you're confident you'll finish next week whats the fear?

Any advice, or what you would do?

    Thanks
