I'd recommend doing a small test piece or two with whatever you decide to do, to get your technique down and make sure the end result is what you want.

I wasn't happy with how mine turned out and ended up taking them out and doing something different.

    Perfect

My neighbour decided to do 12' of concrete top on his outside kitchen on his wooden deck and deck framing sagged about 1 1/2"

What do you mean by chip? I assume to expose the rock. Which would look good with a cool aggregate like mentioned. Just wondering about the process and how you would go about "chipping" pieces off without taking too much off.
I really like the idea of a concrete counter for a bbq.

Won’t a high heat torch fracture/chip the edge?

They make foam/rubber molds you place on the inside of the wood/melamine mold to give the textured edge as well.

Could you incorporate a ridge in the form to assist in this? So if it does crack, it stops at the ridge or you can chip away from the slab starting at the ridge. Just an idea.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
My brother in law just made them out of mortar. 1 1/2" and a couple 3/4" due to clearance on an outlet. It's only been a month but he's happy with the results. I guess he found some youtube vids on the subject and material.

Thought this guy had a pretty easy method. Not pour in place, but the ingredients might be helpful.

Rip a piece of XPS styrofoam to height , pour some acetone or similar on it in random areas , install it as your negative on front face of form

Patched up a hole in the ceiling of my girlfriends new condo that surrounds the light fixture wiring and installed a chandelier for her. Last owner had a giant ugly chandelier covering it looked like they were just lazy/had bad taste.

I’d run a lot of hot water and fill the sink up and let it drain down overflow
