At the top out of a tee as high up as possible under sink.

You’ll want a vent uphill of the trap :)

I thought these were not allowed by a lot of state and local codes. I'm not a plumber. I just vaguely remember hearing it somewhere.

You are correct but it’s better than an s trap.
    Ipc allows them
    Upc doesn’t

I don't seem to have any other options, correct?

Maybe I'll just leave whats there alone.

Installing a tee with a tubular pvc trap and an autovent is better than an s trap. But do what you feel comfort with

Would I have to return PVC with elbows to return back into the cast iron that comes out of the floor?

It's directly below the sink outlet pipe.

Yes you would have to pipe away back to corner, install tee, then use trap at sink, and auto vent straight up out top of tee to under counter.
Place I’m at now had an s trap and I piped it just how I explained only I took vent up inside wall to attic and tied in to an existing vent

So even with a P trap, I need the vent?

I'm leaning toward option B. Thanks again for your consultation.

I'm opting for a new drum trap. I'll mount it higher so cleanout will be easier.

Before I ask let me say hats off to all you roofers! What a pain. Ok now when I get to my last row at the top do I fold it over to the other side? Then do the same when I come up on that side and roof cap or woul you cut it even with the other side then cap it?

Fold over, and don’t worry about cutting them off becuz you’re not venting. That is unless the top part (unfinished) of the shingle shows from underneath the ridge. Having an extra layer up there will help build a steeper pitch at the top to fit your ridge over
