Finally got the Christmas tree and decorations down yesterday and back in the attic.

 

Busy day yesterday, put tint on a couple windows in the master (working graveyard and the shades aren’t cutting it) and the front door since it glares directly on the tv in the afternoon.

hung a couple curtains

smashed a bunch of boxes from all the Amazon Christmas orders.

and, hung some patio lights on my fence to fix the VERY dark corner of my yard. Paired it with a Christmas light timer to have it on for a few hours after dusk. Gotta return a mis-ordered box of the lights and order the matching ones to finish the other 100+ft of fence. Turned out pretty good and wife’s happy now.

Is that a Pelican System?

It is very similar, in fact I believe it is the exact same equipment. I got my system from filtersmart. That is only the two tanks and pre-filter. The rest is mostly from Amazon.

 

I installed a Pelican System in my place in San Diego and it made an immediate difference. However, soak the hell out of the media for well over the recommended 48 hours is what I found.

 

looking for some advice. I am contemplating laying some vinyl flooring down in my basement. the cement floor was painted with a one stage epoxy top coated with a sealer. My issue that I have run into is that in certain area where I had temporarily laid rubber floor tiles the underneath had moisture when I picked them up. I cant imagine moisture coming threw the epoxy. Could it be moisture in the air getting trapped? I run a dehumidifier in the warmer months. I am just hesitant to lay the vinyl tiles and then have accumulations of water underneath. Has anybody run into this problem, and what was the solution? Thanks in advance.

 

We have incredibly hard water but with farm fields around us we also have nitrates that started out on top of the fields. Our well is nearly 200’ deep. Point is everything will eventually work its way down to the water table.

Anytime we lay a laminate or luxury vinyl plank floor on concrete we always use a plastic vapor barrier. Not sure what part of the country you’re in but that’s pretty standard for us in Colorado

I'm in NJ. Any idea where the moisture would be coming from? Wouldn't moisture collect under vapor barrier?

 

does code there not require a vapour barrier under the slab ?
