Looking at getting a mirror with Homelink and compass. Looks like they are fairly universal and used in lots of different brands. Lot's of them on ebay. Any gotchas I should avoid? Looks like they can just plug into the existing mirror connector? (it's a 2023 SR5 and currently has a mirror with compass. On a related note - is there an always hot 12V line in the area above the mirror that could be used with a dash cam for power when the vehicle is off?

I did the same before I switched to a dash cam mirror. Grabbed one of the gentex homelink ones off of ebay. V4 was the version I had. Check the colors of the buttons too. Not all of them are Toyota blue. Most people use the Dongar adapter to power accessories. It just plugs inline with your mirror and adds a USB port for camera power. I didn't like the size of it but you can hide it in the headliner if you really wanted to. I skipped it and just hardwired it to my fuse panel.

What did you do for a dash cam mirror? I was thinking of adding a dash cam so all in one is of interest.

I went with the Wolfbox G900Pro. I have a bed rack and tent so my OEM rear view is severely limited. The Wolfbox has a 4k front cam, 2.5k rear cam, and up to 256gb of storage. It definitely returns a lot of the lost visibility.

I have the Wolfbox G900Pro too, and it’s a game changer since I have a Super Pacific X1 and can’t see anything using a mirror. I’m using the Dongar adapter stuffed in my headliner.
