Homemade Fishing Pole Rack?

First post...yay!

I have the Inno bed rack w/ yakima ski racks. I can throw on multiple 12'6" spey rods with the butt towards the tailgate and run the tips through the slide window, works perfectly.
I've also broken down the rods in half and driven with them in the rack that way as well, do it this way when it's raining out and I'm moving holes; plus you can keep the lines in the rod!

 

I actually used to have those same racks on my old cherokee, sold them about a year ago, I was just wanting to build something in the bed to store poles, preferably removable

sub'd.......... Most of my rod are long then the bed andit gets a bit annoying on long distance fishing trips.

KPT is a member here, if you look up his past post I know he posted pics of his home made holder. Came out pretty nice too. It was a few months ago.

 

I just checked out KPT's thread... wasn't bad looking. I might try to build something up like that... maybe with some more holders though. Believe it or not I just had 6 rods in the bed on my way fishing the other day.

 

His looked pretty good, I might make two one for each side im looking to hold 4-8 poles

 

Also check out the post in boating and fishing section started by Rich11. I like that KPT's design had it on the side of the bed since I have 2 large dog kennels for my german shepherds that are in the bed. Just another idea.

 

When I was in HS I screwed a couple 8" pieces of PVC pipe to each side of the bed. Just painted them black and lined the inside with foam.
