    It's getting there.
I'm not trying to sell anything here, just getting some opinions on something I've been working on for my third gen.

I started out almost 2 years ago by fabing up this monstrosity:

While it was strong, hauling lengths of steel with the removable rear corner support and could support me standing on the front edge cantilevering over my roof like that no problem, let's be honest it's pretty ugly.

So after that thing sitting in my yard for a year, and me drilling 12 holes in my roof for an Access Cab Prinsu rack, I decided to cut it apart and try for a headache/chase rack.

Here's what I came up with:

Obviously it's not painted, so that makes it look pretty ugly, but bear with me huh?

Turns out my dad had a that I used after a few test pieces to get what's close to a 45* bend (but matching even if the are at 51*) and then cut and dropped the height of the trapezoid that made up my old rack so that the new top rail would be level with the height of my prinsu. I also chopped the full bed length rails down to about 32 inches and re-welded my angle iron brackets to the rails. Pops found some nifty 3/16th L brackets that would work great for tie down points in a bucket under the bench from an old sheet metal worker friend, so I stuck them on top.

Now I'm wondering where I should go from here. I was thinking about putting in some expanded metal and a few support bars (with a cut out for the 3rd brake light) to fill in the trapezoid. Also, I'm thinking about adding in some vertical supports in the tubing sections so that I can do a rotopax mount on each side (for the little square type ones). Finally, I'm thinking about tubing that crosses the bed in two places to put in a spare tire mount that would be on a similar angle to the rear down tubes. Any advice is willingly accepted.

Thanks for reading the wall of text, if you did. I just can't justify spending so much on a headache rack or chase rack when I had this shit lying in the yard. Also, I can't do the CAD and if I could there isn't a single piece of machinery I own that I can plug a USB stick into so soapstone drawing on my welding table and fab-as-you-go methods were used here.

TLDR I welded a thing, didn't like it, cut it apart, welded another thing.
