There are guys bidding on this that all somewhat recently spent a good chunk of change on a new truck. For any of us that read this forum regularly, which is all of us, there's been a fair amount of posts related to the quest for the holy grail of grills for 2012+ Tacomas. Our skilled vendor(s) haven't had the time/money/or desire to r&d Up until now.

What we have before us is quite literally the only Homertaco Satoshi for 2012 and newer trucks known to exist. If I bought it, I would seriously consider having it autographed and numbered, at least the grill surround.

As crazy as $1100 sounds, we haven't even had the end of auction run up yet. It's not entirely impossible that there's a whale out there who paid cash for his 31000 Taco and will buy this grill at any cost.

You may be a senior member here but not on eBay... I am just afraid my son will wreck his truck and hurt the grill. Homer what kind of warranty comes with it, will it cover my gonna be 16 y/o in his first car (aka truck) ???? Will you reproduce if insurance pays?

 

Sir, if there was another method that allowed the unbiased sale of my grill I would have chosen it. I am most certainly NOT a "senior" eBay seller nor do I have any intention of being one.
Bottom line - I personally stand behind the workmanship of my products.
Not only that but I cover all shipping related costs associated with any repairs due to any such issues. I don't know many companies that can claim that.
I've had the good fortune of meeting a great many members of this forum whom would vouch for me not only personally but professionally.
The purchaser will have a bill of sale from the eBay transaction to state the cost of the grill. I will not, nor have I ever committed to rebuilding or replacing due to an accident regardless of the circumstances.
This is a one-off prototype. It is being sold as such.
As I have said in previous posts I will build additional ones but at my own pace.
The amount this has risen to is surprising and humbling but if you think it will motivate me to produce more you are mistaken.
My efforts on this site and my work is first and foremost for my enjoyment.

Yeah... must be nice being your son but how can you even consider buying this if you are already thinking he may fuck it up? My first car was only $200 more than the current bid and I have worked my ass off to be where I am today. If you can give your son what some of us grown men cant give to ourselves then good on you, but I will not help but smile if I see a post complaining of the grill not standing up to a front end collision.

Funny, I don't know of any grill that will stand up to a collision. You will not see another comment from me here, and good luck to all on eBay. Modding and restoring vehicles is a hobby for my son and I. Its our time when I have a few moments to spend together.

It's disheartening to think that anyone would even smile at someone else's misfortune. I am in the business of helping people, not gaining pleasure from their heart ache, or sorrow.

What started as a joke has turned into something else so I apologize to Homer, you and anyone else who didn't get that it was meant for Ambiguous.

I like the eBay idea of selling the grill. not only is it completely fair, but it shows how much your grilles are really worth. I agree to this style of selling it.
