Where the shifters come up is trickier to seal than I would have thought. It took me a bunch of iterations with a bunch of different sealants to get shit to stop leaking from there. Once it leaks a little it gets everywhere too

I'm pretty late to this thread and not sure if it was mentioned in the previous pages, but how was 2012-2015 front end conversion done?

 

I traded stuff for the headlights, bought some of the trim off Rockauto, traded additional parts to another TW member for the hood, and made the grill myself.
It's all just bolt-on. the 12 is the same as the 05-11 save the bumper,headlights grill and hood.
Since I have an aftermarket bumper the rest was ridiculously easy.

 

There's a thin shee tmetal deflector plate that is necessary to have a good seal around the shifter's. It's part of the stock shifter arrangement, it keeps the gear oil from being slung up into the shifter mechanism itself. Also try filling the case and crawlbox only to the fill port. Anything extra added through the shifters and you're compounding the problem by throwing even more gear oil up into the shifters.

 

Yep that will keep the mess down for sure. I put that back in my case once it was twin sticks. Yota P/N 36108-35060

No pics but I pulled the shift assembly out again. I think with some heat & a BFH I can adjust the sticks to where they need to sit. I'll tackle that some night this week I hope. Shifter was definitely the reason for the crawl box leak. Best I can tell is that the FJ case leak is coming from somewhere up top. It's very minor though so for now I'm going to let it go. I'm half tempted to pull the console & cut an access hole to reach the top rather than drop the fucking case again.
Ant & I will be getting together tentatively on 11/18 to get the cross member and skid finalized.

After that I should be trail-worthy again.

 

On this date absolutely nothing was done to my truck.
